muzzle sticking out 1/4"??

i just bought a couple holsters for my ruger security 9, the owb is polymer and made for it and the iwb is for a glock 19 but the ruger fits snug like it was made for it. my only problem with both is the muzzle comes out about 1/4" or less on both holsters, i've looked online and have found some holsters let the gun barrel stick out but it does bother me some. i even went to a local shop and all the holsters made for my gun let the muzzle out very slightly. do any of you wear holsters that let the muzzle stick out slightly? i may just be making a mountain out of a mole hill, thanks for any help.

All of my open bottomed holsters do let the barrel poke out. Thenclosed bottom holsters are all an inch or so too long which lets them be sewn closed without being problematic.

All the crossbreed/minotaur/kingtuk style holsters allow the gun to stick out. My crossbreed allows much more than 1/4 inch. Most of my holsters do. Never caused a problem

I carry my Glock 19 in a tagua leather pancake w/ thumb break, my security 9 (that I owned for 1 week) fit in it just fine with no muzzle sticking out.

I'm ok with that IWB. But I prefer that my OWB holsters cover the barrel.

I prefer muzzle coverage. Picky, but i see it as a place for a sight to get hung up on (potentially) and I want to reduce the chances of errors on the drawstroke as much as possible.

I don’t mind an open bottom but don’t want anything protruding.

As I stated above, most of my holsters leave a little sticking out but I certainly wouldn't have one that allowed my sight to stick out, as one poster mentioned. Granted, I have never seen a holster made for a gun that allowed that. but I certainly wouldn't have it.

front sight is still inside the holster, just the edge of the slide and barrel sticking down outside

Im good a 1/4 in sticking out. I hate holsters that do not cover the trigger.

well i got another holster for a 4 inch barrel auto, my gun which is supposed to be 4 inch has the muzzle dead even with the end of the holster. i would like the muzzle up inside but it doesn't seem like any local shop of holsters will let it. this recent one is the only one that keeps the muzzle at least even with the holster.

The muzzle on my Kimber 4” sticks out of my Galco Silhouette High Rise and I’ve never had issue with draw. BTW, that’s a damn dog hair in the photo by the muzzle and not a scratch...smh

I don't care for holsters that let the muzzle stick out just like I don't care for pants that are too short. Both should cover up what they are supposed to cover up.

The muzzles of guns sticking out of holsters tend to catch on car consoles and chair arms and get pushed up out of the holster..This can be rather embarrassing at times.

I prefer open end holsters. Much less chance of trash getting down inside of it and getting into the barrel.

Like Iggy, I’ve had that embarrassing moment when my pistola popped up as I hit the arm rest of a chair when I sat down. Such holsters have gone down the road for me.
