I drew a bull tag last year and in my haste to get my 450 Ultra done in time for the permit. I tossed the reamer, action, stock and barrel in a box and sent it to Benchmark Barrels in Arlington WA to just have them get it up and running and back to me in a hurry for the permit season. Shortly after I shot my bull with it I sent it off to Kampfeld Custom. I had it bedded, the base holes opened to 8/40, the bolt TI fluted, a hunter bolt knob installed and the caliber designated on the barrel. Karl does pristine work and is well worth the wait. Here are a few pictures of his finishing work on my Benchmark built 450/ .375 Ultra Magnum. I was just going to have it designated 450 Ultra Magnum but I had several PH's tell me it was a better idea to designate it 450/ .375 Ultra Magnum if I ever planned on taking it over seas. Due to the head stamp issue. They said as long as the deisgnation had .375 Ultra Mangum in it like the head stamp on the brass I use to form the 450's cases, I would be good to go.

Looks like a 10lb rifle too me and a nice muzzle break (double up on ear protectors) i doubt itnkicks that much
 
9.4 lbs all dressed up, a 500gr bullet on top of 102gr of Win748 on the bench Will give you a recoil experience you've either never experienced or have very few times. It makes a 36lbs 50 BMG feel like a pussy cat. The lighter bullets are much more manageable.

Took it to the range today with some 350gr Speer HotCores I picked up at a discount. Loaded them on top of 101grs of Win 748. They did rather well for such a short bullet in my 14 twist Lilja. This group was shot with Bell .404 Jeffery brass that I fire formed with corn meal, then fired with a 500gr bullet and a mid weight charge of Win748, they were then trimmed to length and loaded for the group shot bellow. I'll call CEB Bullets on Monday, some on ACCURATE Reloading said their new 300 and 350gr .458 Raptor bullet may be out.
