My 638 Airweight Bodyguard came in early!

I cleaned it up a little, put a little Militec here & there, and inserted some "A-Zooms" and snapped away at the TV for a while. It's on my hip now and I don't feel (yet) much difference from the 331 .32 mag that is now in an ankle holster. I think I'm gonna like this one.:p
Oh, I immediately took the Uncle Mike's off and installed Hogue's.

You can bet on that! However, these old joints need some dry weather. It's been raining in Kentucky for nearly a week!

Hey! re1973. How can you have so many posts already? (Incidentally 1973 was a REALLY good year for me. Won several trophies until I went off a cliff during a hill-climb. Hit so hard it broke the handlebars and cracked my helmet in half. Oh, and also my shoulder.)

For the Louisville people: Today I heard from three people that Ray is going to open a new store and indoor range on Fern Valley Road. I was told it was going to be next to McD's close to I65. I didn't hear this from Ray or Julie, but from three different people at three different places.

'73 good for me too, I got out of HS !

Central part of AR been wet too, cleared up and gonna be warm for a bit. OF course I'm still stupid and shoot outside in rain and cold...my knees feel it, double surgery in '93.

Dry fire that 638 and flex those joints. I figure knee knocking cold is flexing my knees on the range. Makes sense to me.

Oh, I'm dryfiring alright. That's why I bought the A-Zooms! I think I've lucked out. Both the 638 and the 331 Ti have fairly light double action triggers.:p

hey kentucky, I have an airweight bodyguard too, I love those humpy guns, I know what ya mean about the rain we've been getting our share...

I almost bought a 638 Airweight, but ended up ordering a 340PD today, instead; hopefully, I should have it tomorrow. I'll probably carry .38spl +Ps in it. I imagine that the full power .357 ammo is pretty brutal. Any recommendations? I already have a 640-1 .357, but it's pretty heavy by today's standards.

RBCD Ammunition is loaded to NON +P pressure. Light bullet too. I think RBCD .357 might be tolerable in a light .357.

>.357 stats: muzzle velocity= 1975 FPS
muzzle energy= 520 Ft Lbs

>.38 Special stats: muzzle vel= 1705 FPS
muzzle energy= 385 Ft Lbs

I'm going to carry the RBCD .38 special in my new Airweight Bodygard because, even though it's no .357, the .38 special stats are not too shabby.

P.S. RBCD is in all my pocket pistols too, except for the P-32. Being the same OAL as a Silvertip or Gold Dot, I'm afraid the rim-lock problem would show up at the absolute worst time possible. The P-32 gets Fiocchi FMJ's.

Okay, thanks. I think I'll go over to www.ammolab.com and see what stats they have on the RBCD ammo.

I also use the Fiocchi FMJs in my P-32.

Super choice! "If" I wanted to spend that kind of money, I too would get a 638, or possibly a 442 or 642. I still say single action capability has it's virtues, even in a belly gun.
 
KR.... I am picking up a nib mod. 642 tomorrow (tuesday) It is the new series with the lock, A fellow bought it put 20rds throught it and tradded it back to the gun shop, He must have took a hellava hit because i got it for $375.00.. :what:

Definatly one of my better finds...:D

Pocketman: I believe you. There's a guy who frequent's my regular gun shop who buys a new revolver or auto...then comes back in 3 or 4 weeks and trades the barely used gun in on something else. I think THIS is his hobby. My gun shop owner is ALWAYS happy to see the guy's car pull up. Hey, it's OK! Whatever makes him happy. At least he's not an "anti"! Maybe he's going for some kind of record. "Most guns bought and traded" or something. :)
