Well, on July 16, 2012, I posted in a Rifle Country thread that my M1A Standard, with synthetic stock, had no front ferrule. The thread had to do with another gent not seeing one on his syth stock and wondering if it was incorrectly assembled.
Didn't see one on mine, looked at the SA website and didn't see one in the pics (at that time) for a synthetic stock, figured it didn't have one, and they only put them on the wood stocked ones. I presumed this to be because there was no wood grain to cap with a Fiberglas or plastic stock.
Oops.
It's there alright, just covered by the black wrinkle paint. I put a magnet on it and, lo and behold, there's a steel ferrule under there.
Zombie comment, I know, but the thread was closed for replies by now and my OCD couldn't let it go...
