My favorite handgun was also my least expensive?

How strange it is that my favorite handgun happens to be among my least expensive.

It seems I have fallen in love with my RIA Twin-Pines 1911. The only modification I've made to this bare-bones 1911 is a pair of walnut grips that replaced the smooth scales to reduce the undue girth and to restore the old slabside's natural slender grace.
Here's a 1911 that's (currently) more accurate and dependable than my $700 Kimber and appears to love range time to no end.

I've managed to find the time to deplete my surplus of 230gr Winchester FMJ and Rainier 230gr HPs recently, and with much delight!
After 1K of 230gr FMJs over 7gr of Alliant Power Pistol and another 2K of Rainier HPs and various SWCs, this fine pistol is seemingly more accurate than ever. I'm sure some of this is due to acquired proficiency, but I cannot for the life of me shoot my Kimber (first series) this good with the same loads, despite the near identical platform. To date, there's simply no auto nor revolver that I own or that I've had the pleasure of firing that I can shoot as well. So strange....

Dependability? The $279 RIA will digest every 200gr SWC I've slapped in the magazine without fuss and with absolutely impressive accuracy and minimal leading. Many of these same loads (especially those SWCs from Magnus) will cause my Kimber to protest with much vigor.

So, here's my question: how should I feel when I find I prefer my inexpensive RIA 1911 over all my other handguns that cost me three times the price?
After all, I still enjoy my other handguns, but there's just something about the value of this pistol that tickles me silly!

This 1911 has impressed me so much that it's replaced the Steyr M40 as my "nightstand gun".

Simply put:
I love this pistol!

How about you? Have you found yourself favoring a relatively inexpensive handgun over others that financially set you back much more? Did it inspire a subtle displeasure with the costlier specimens or exultation with the more affordable one?

1911Tuner, a poster with many years experience gunsmithing 1911s, warns that the cast slide of a RIA may snap...at around 20,000 rounds!

:)

Seriously, what does it matter what the name on the pistol is, or how much you paid for it? If it works well and you like it, then it's perfect.

I love my RIA 1911 as well. A great pistol at the price, without a doubt.

I had the same experience with a Colt Agent. Bought it in good but not great shape from a hardware store for $180. Could have easily gone my whole life after only replacing the mainspring for under $50. I chose to replace the grips and bob the hammer, but it is still at about $300, is older than I am, and is an awesome shooter for a gun with only a rear sight channel.

It is the only gun in my collection I would not trade or sell...unless...
