Some of you here know that I'm a SIG guy. I've only ever bought SIGs, but I got a wild hair last month and decided to try out a glock. I got a Gen 4 17, since I had done well with my dad's gen 3s. With the medium backstrap, I was getting slide bite like you would not believe. So I put on the medium beavertail strap. Whew doggie. That's niiiiice. Now when I pick up my 226, it feels HUGE. So I'm gonna work with the glock this next year until I get the proficiency I had with the comparable 226.

I have a g19 gen 4. Just put in a rocket 3.5 lb connecter. It made a big difference in my group sizes. For less than 20 dollars I highly recommend it.

It will be very easy to develop accuracy and consistency with the 17. Prep, break, let out to reset, break, etc. Spend a couple sessions feeling the trigger manipulations. You'll be in tune with it very soon.

As a guy that started out on a Glock 22 and still carries a Glock, I felt the same thing when I held a P226 for the first time. It felt like such a big, fat, clunky gun. It doesn't feel bad. It's just the bore axis is so high and the slide is so fat and heavy. I would still like a P229 just for the fun of it.

Enjoy the advantage of a consistent trigger pull. It leads to a higher level of trigger control.
