I own a few modest folders that you can get anywhere...a couple of Gerbers and Bucks. And, I have my father's Marble Woodcraft that he used back in the 40s that is still in pretty good shape. But...

A couple of weeks ago at the Raleigh Gun Show I had plans to get ammo and a holster (which I did), but also stopped by the table of a NC knife maker, Dave Vail, and looked over his knives. I couldn't resist this drop point (3.75" ATS-34 blade) with Maple burl handle. Whoooie!! Oh, and the sheath is a really nice piece too. Dave does nice work with leather, steel, and wood. I can't wait until the next Raleigh show to see what he has there.

Oh, and he and his wife Ginny are really nice folks. Good people. :D

Good for you! Customs are neat - I mean you get everything the maker has in every knife. I know enough blood has gone into mine! :)

That's a beautiful knife - I really like them simple and elegant like that.

Very nice!

Careful you don't get "the bug" and start spending all your spare money on pretty chunks of steel.
