At the advanced age of 58 I've finally picked up my first SA revolver. It's only the third centerfire revolver in my collection.

A Ruger Single Seven in .327 Fed Mag.

So now I need to find brass, bullet moulds, 650 conversion and dies.

I'm excited. I've been eyeing one of these for the longest time.

Stainless and adjustable sights are what sets that revolver off. It’s a beauty. I would be wary of shooting cast in it at .327 loads. Perhaps you intend to load down to 32 long levels in the 327 cases? If you shoot cast at anything close to full loads, gas check is an absolute must. I have used 32long dies to load 327, but I don’t like to adjust them so much so I will be buying another set of dies to dedicate to 327 soon. I hope to join you with a Ruger soon. I have seen a few sell recently on gunbroker and the prices are all over the place. I hope to find one cheap. Your revolver is exactly what I’m looking for, but I would settle for the same in blued steel. Congrats on a beautiful gun, and you got a nice set of grips to go with it too.

That's a gorgeous looking revolver in the right size for packing. Have fun with it!

That should make those .327s zip along. Underrated cartridge that I only got out of because I couldn't source any ammo locally. .32 shorts? No sweat. .327? Fuhgedaboudit.

My sp101 would fire .32 auto as well, but they aren't for much use.

That said, that Single is a looker. I used to not like adjustable sights on a wheel gun for aesthetic purposes, but they really shine on a gun in which various cartridges can be fed. I like them on my .357/9mm convertible. I can really dial in whether I'm shooting warm 158 semi hollow points or 147 jhp in 9mm.

Congrats on a lovely shooter:)

I will be shooting full house .327 Federal mag loads through it. I see no problem shooting lead through it. I've been shooting .224 bullets at 1900 FPS with no gas check and no leading. Bullet fit is paramount.

Beauty!

I have been listing after a 7-shot GP 100 in .327... but the single sevens site look nice...

Decisions..decisions...

Again, a really nice pick up .

Stay safe!

I'm happy with it. I'm trying to sell an H&K 91. As soon as it sells I'll pick up my reloading stuff for the .327. I'm going to buy my second Dillon 650 so I don't have to switch primer sizes.

Howdy

I had to look twice when you said centerfire.

That's a Single Six I said.

Then I realized the Single Six frame is big enough for the .327 cartridge. Big enough for seven shots, not just six.

Good luck with it, I hope you have a lot of fun with it.

Nice choice for your first single action centerfire revolver! Just the right size for the .327 Magnum! Around here it would make for a great backwoods companion.
