CZ has their Scorpion Evo3 and the Scorpion Micro. I like the size of the Micro, but I find the faux suppressor to be a silly gimmick. I would prefer that the Micro contain a tri-lug and 1/2x28 threaded barrel instead of a pretend suppressor. That way, I can run it unsuppressed in a super compact package or slap an actual can on it as I see fit.

I recognize that companies such as HBI make kits that enable owners to configure the Scorpions as I described. However, I believe CZ would likely do well to offer such a variant from the factory as I do not want to but a gun, spend an extra $200+ To swap out a barrel and then have spare faux suppressor/barrel parts that I won’t use and that nobody will be interested in buying.

What are your thoughts?

As far as I know the new micro versions have a 1/2 28 barrel thread? The older ones for sure had some issues to overcome there.

Supposedly remove the forend and remove the faux suppressor. Voila, put yours on?

I will say they are undisputedly fun little guns!

From CZ's website... "With 1/2×28 threads hidden underneath the factory flash-hider, users can fit either 1/2×28 or 18×1 accessories to the muzzle."

Is there anything else I can look up for you?

We are talking about a couple of different things.

The Scorpion Evo3 pistol comes in a regular version that has a flash hider and 1/2x28 threads. The original version had the metric threads, but CZ changed to 1/2x28 in its second year of production. There is another version, the Scorpion Micro, that is even more compact. It has a faux Osprey suppressor under the handguard. While you can remove the faux suppressor (it is toilsome from what I’ve read/researched as the faux suppressor is really on tight and requires a specialized tool for easier removal), the end of the barrel, which is threaded, remains under the handguard making it look odd and inaccessible for many suppressors as they will be of a larger diameter than the handguard.

Ideally, there would be a version without the faux suppressor, but with a barrel that has both a tri-lug and 1/2x28 threads which extend past the handguard so that it is aesthetically appealing and can accept suppressors of various shapes and sizes.

Havent pulled mone apart yet to mess with it. I did measure things out and the 9mm suppressors I'd use will clear the hand guard. If not, I'd be doing some trimming lol.

The whole muzzle thread thing did give me pause before buying mine. I'm sure plenty others have the same reaction.

I'd be curious why they use the fake suppressor at all on the micro. Some bizarre import or garbage atf nonsense?

I sure wish I had bought one when I had the opportunity to get it for a little over $300. I have always thought they were extremely cool and interesting.

sooooo..... i fingered one of these at the gun show this weekend. with the faux osprey suppressor. the guy behind the table insisted that i can call silencerco and get the tool to remove it, and that i can put my osprey on it no problem. (i bought one of the original FN FNP45 / osprey two tone tan combos back in the day) apparently the only downside is that it only comes in black and my can is two tone tan.

anyone have one? i've searched a lot on google and haven't found a single pic of it put together. and only one review that said the bolt noise was louder than the bullet with subsonics, but that's actually what i'm worried about as bolt noise is notoriously loud on many subguns
