Bought online today from Greg Martin Auctions via proxibid for $2,500 plus a 13.5% buyer's premium.

Wow!

They had an estimated price going in of $800 - $1,000. I am guessing that bidding was pretty hot and heavy.

I am guessing that you are going to have to wait 10 days in California prior to taking possession, right? (Otherwise you might just be a gang banger with your $2800+ classic revolver who would shoot up the "hood".)

$2,500!:what: :what: I guess you really wanted it huh? That is one fine looking Colt. I have seen some LNIB Colts lately that I have been keeping my eye on. Congrats!

we wuz robbed!

So I got screwed on this deal. Likewise the consignor of the aforementioned Greg Martin lot.

I submitted a $2,500 bid via proxibid two seconds before another onsite bid in the same amount was recognized from the floor by the auctioneer. Here is proxibid's bid history for this lot.

Although my intention was to go to $3,000, I did not up my bid because proxibid failed to alert me to the other bidder's submission, which was acknowledged in my stead. Greg Martin's people refused to admit any fault, claiming that they have total discretion in ignoring any bid.

Greg Martin is cruising for a bruising in this matter. Notwithstanding their terms and conditions, California laws require the auctioneer to perform his duties so that the highest or most favorable offer made by a member of his audience is accepted. Opening his auction to online bids that the auctioneer then ignores invites a class action lawsuit from his consignors. I am not going to pursue this matter any further, but if the consignor of this lot wishes to make a claim against the auctioneer, I will render him any assistance I can.

Money...smunnny. Money is renewable...Colts like yours are not. I think is a fantastic exchange. I am sooooo envious.
