They had one in my local shop, and it seemed like a good deal without the 16-18 week wait. So here it is. the DSA SA58 Para tactical carbine. 16.25" fluted medium contour barrel with A2 flash, Shortened gas system, saw pistol grip, folding para stock, adjustable peep sights. It also came with a Kahles KX 3-9x42 scope which potentially made it a really good buy( not sure what they usually run).

how much did you pay? I'm thinking to sell my PTR and get a FAL. I don't like the recoil of the PTR.

picked it up for $2100, which if you include the Kahl, saw grip and rail, I think it came out quite a bit ahead of buying from DSA + no wait.

You need new lower rings however.

huh? explain please.

is ordering from DSA direct cheaper than buying it elsewhere?

actually atlantic arms has the DSA to order rifles listed about $200-300 less then buying directly from DSA, but whichever way you look at it your going to be waiting 3-4 months to even get your rifle. You may find a deal on gunbroker, but I kind of doubt it.

Nice rifle. You got a great deal, just the rifle is worth 2K. For no wait and all of the extras, you did very well. Enjoy it

Awesome rifle!

I really like that rear sight. Mind posting a review on the sight itself?

it seems to be just your tradition peep adjustable sight. The same one thats on my Krebs KTR-03. Not an AR guy, but I think its supposed to closely resemble it. Not much else to say other than it seems extremely utilitarian.

did you get the stg58 or the enterprise arms? I certainly could have saved nearly $900-1100 buying either of those two versions.

Awsome

GELGOOG ... you got all the luck dude !! that is a sweet piece and even sweeter deal !! if I had your luck I would play the lottery - congrats bro .:what:

lol...yea I do have pretty good luck alot of the time. Made 150% profit when selling my Valmet 71s :D wish I didnt have to sell that, but damn if parts and mags don't cost an arm and a leg. Snagged a BM59 parts build for $900 and quickly sold it for a nice lil profit.

Oh and that krebs I got for $1200 back in may when I found out they had discountinued the ktr-03 model for the cheaper variant. I was very luck to find that up for sale as I can only imagine they didn't make that many and finding one at a good price was even luckier :D

all though my luck on guns doesnt translate to real life..where my actual luck resembles someone who ran over 20 black cats. broken ankle, missed graduation by 3 credit mixup, speeding ticket and comp completely trashed by a virus in less then a 2 month period...just to put things in perspective.

Problem with part of that is that you might have an Entreprise FAL instead of a DSA. Could be you'd get a really good FAL from Entreprise. Could also be that you get a clunker. Certainly better than 10 years ago when you'd almost certainly get a clunker from Entreprise, but still not worth the potential savings, considering you may have to spend several hundred to a gunsmith to get it right (and maybe still not get as good a rifle as the DSA.) Many people have Entreprise rifles and are quite happy with them. That's great. When I spend my money on an FAL it's a DSA because I know I'm getting quality. To me it's worth it. Both of my DSA FALs are high end rifles.

Congrats, you got a good deal! It even has a type II receiver. Let us know how it shoots when you get the chance.
