Last weekend I picked up a Marlin Model 39 at the local gun show. It's an original 39 with the S prefix in the serial number and the star on the tang. The wood is pretty trashed though, and I'd like to replace it. I'm looking for some recomendations on where to get wood. I'm leaning towards this company named Precision Gun Works. Anyone have any experience with their replacement wood?

Also, I understand that you shouldn't run High-Velocity ammunition through these earlier models. If I just stick to Standard Velocity ammo should I be OK? Do any of you have one of these and have an ammo recomendation?
Thanks in advance! I can't wait to try this thing out.
