These are inside the P-01 pics. I was in hurry and that's no way to take pics of the outside. These cleary show that this P-01 got a super poly coating - it's seems they covered every area possible including areas that will undoubtibly lose it with the friction and wear of firing. Makes me think that the cleaning will be easier because of it.

The following two pics show that the last part toward the front of the slide's rail's are raised perhaps so that there is less friction during the slide's sliding. Not sure if this is unique to the P-01, can't recall if it is the same with my 97b.

Here is the previously mentioned plastic FLGR with a little chunk arleady missing. Looks like my teething one and half year old boy got a hold of it and took a little bite. I like the thought of plastic shock absorbing wise but looking at that does not give me great confidence in the FLGR's longevity. I plan on sticking with it for now. I will watch to see how and if it starts to wear out and make a decision then.

And finaly a less than decent attempt for a pic of the inside of the barrel...

I've been dry firing some and it seems to me the trigger double action could use some smoothing out, especially right before the release. It feels like the trigger is markedly heavier than that of my 97b and less smooth but my 97b has 1000+ rnds through it.

I really really like this gun! :D

The Jackash rods are a very fine product. I have one in my 97b and it works great.
I'm more or less curious how long the plastic one will last in the P-01 given the extensive testing the it underwent to gain NATO approval.
I enjoyed reading your article on/review of the P-01 - good reading!

In my experience, the stock plastic guide rod on CZs is tough. Judging by malfunction reports on this board and the CZ forums, it seems like not many people have a problem with it - you're way more likely to have a problem with undersprung mags/extractor/etc. or with the slide stop than with the guide rod.

I went about 1500 rounds with my CZ75 compact with no problems, but I did notice the plastic guide rod starting to fray :uhoh: . Dunno how long it's supposed to last, but that plastic guide rod just seemed like a cheap touch on a good gun, so I got rid of it ;) (while I'm at it, I should mention that I got rid of those plastic grips as well. . . ).

BTW, nice gun.

My CZ 75 compact has them also, although the slide's rail ends a tiny bit before they do on the P-01.

Odd!

I was looking down the barrel at the rifling and I keep seeing an englishman walk by and turn and shoot in a stylilized pose.
