I buy on looks and functionality, I won’t say how much but I would have gone greater than 100 and been well pleased.
As the old axiom goes. A good horse trade is when both parties walk away happy. (both convinced they got the better of the deal).

Since I'm pretty sure the OP knows how much they paid, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that the period after the $100 probably doesn't belong and was inseret by some "helpful" software.
I think what is being said is they paid about $100 more than it's worth, not $100 total.
That said, when one buys something they like who really cares what anyone else thinks it's worth?

I’m going out on the same limb too saying he paid 100.00 more than it’s worth... the way I read it.
Not the worst deal I’ve ever seen or heard about. And it’s a pretty nice pistol.

I thought it was worth about $250
I paid $350 because I liked it.
A new pistol is about $275 or there abouts and about $175 to age and defard.
