So I made it a full blown (almost) gun day. I took my

XD-9
Makarov
1911
AK-47
RRA

XD-9 - I ran 100 rounds of Lellier & Bellot 9mm, 115 grain FMJ without a hitch. It cycled, ejected, and locked back after the last round, every time. This pistol hits what you aim at. And for now going to be one of my everyday carry guns. When carrying it I load it with Federal 115 grain +P Hi-Shok JHP. Today's Grade = A

Makarov - I ran 50 rounds of Silver Bear 9x18mm, 115 grain JHP and it also ran like a champ without a glitch of any kind. It does however kick more than the 9mm does. But just like the XD-9, this little pistol is really accurate. I might consider this as my backup gun. Today's Grade = A

Springfield 1911 OD Green Service Model - I almost forgot how good it felt to shoot "old ironsides". I ran 50 rounds of MFS 230 grain FMJ through it with one stove pipe round. This was towards the end and I might say it was caused my limp wristing. After close to 200 rounds so far my hand was becoming a little tired. Accuracy was good, but again it might have been better if I had started with it first. After shooting it today I decided to alternate the XD-9 with this pistol. There's just something about a 1911 and the .45 round that just seems "right" - Todays Grade = B+

RRA LAR-15 - This was my first time out with it. I ran 120 rounds of Winchester 5.56mm 55 grain FMJ Q3131A through it and it never burped once. I have been warned to expect a jam, or some other type of malfunction with this type of rifle. I didn't experience any such thing. I did however experience outstanding accuracy and a pleasure to shoot. I started out shooting one round and waiting about a minute, and doing the same thing with the first 30 round magazine. The second mag I repeated the same procedure with a little more speed. By the third mag I was rockin' and rollin'. I would have shot more rounds but it was getting late and I had one more rifle to play with. Todays Grade = A

AK-47, SAR-1 - I ran 120 rounds of "the big green can" 7.62x39mm 124 grain FMJ without a problem. This ????in' carbine RUNS! And runs, and runs, and runs. It may not be the most accurate of all the guns I shot today, but it sure does RUN! When the SHTF and it's time to get down and dirty, this is the weapon I'm grabbing. It will run all day without oil, with sand in it, and it packs a nice punch. I really like this rifle. Today's Grade = A

Well, there it is. My range report for the day. Needless to say I'm tired and a little sore. (it's been a while since I've done a full armory test session. I do want to add that every firearm shot today was done without a bench rest of any kind. Everything was in a Weaver stance or shoulder fired.

Now the real fun begins - cleaning them. But that will have to wait until tomorrow. All in all, it was a pretty damn nice day. :)

Sounds like a fun day.

You know, if you run a wet patch through each gun's bore and let them soak overnight, you'll have to use a lot less elbow grease tomorrow.

Thanks Dave. I'm thinking also about getting an old sink or small tub for the same reason. Letting them sit for a while and soak. Especially when there is more than one gun to clean, like today.
