In looking at the schematics of the NAA mini revolver, I'm wondering... Why not scale the design up to chamber something like a .32 H&R or .38 Spl ?

No kidding.
They have their mini niche very well covered.
I’d love to have a Sidewinder or a Ranger II to compliment my old .22 magnum mini.

I could be wrong, but I believe that prototype was a SA/DA. If they would've stuck to SA, it would've been sleeker. I have a couple of there products. Nifty little items.

Another option in mini revolver is one of the old Freedom Arms offerings. The only negative is the front sight blade had annoying tendency to eventually fall off.

That actually happened to the FA Mini my friend had. :)

The one other thing with the FA model is that it lacked the safety notches between the chambers for nesting the hammer, as an additional margin of safety. But I suppose any gunsmith could add those -- or a person adept enough with a Dremel... :)

Poke around on gun broker until you find a shooter condition H&R Young America in .32s&w. Its a little bigger than a NAA Mini, but not by much.

It's the smaller of the two pictured:

My Dad stil carries an H&R Vest Pocket in .32 S&W from time to time.

I dont have a picture, but his example is near mint, the timing and lockup is pretty solid and it is accurate enough at shouting distance, lol. Believe it or not, you actually CAN cock it for a SA shot if your fingers are nimble enough.

DWfan

In addition to their current line of pocket semi-autos, NAA once made a full size single action chambered in a .45 Win Mag lengthened to 1.344" called the .450 Magnum Express.

Now that's a fine looking single action! Sort of reminds me of the Seville revolver.

Ouch. No. Bad idea, unless you like pain or unless you want to shoot low recoil rounds.

I figured I’d carry it with .38 Wadcutters.

It IS little though.

Poopy little round, but still better than a .32.

Sorta.

Kinda.

There is no reason they couldn't make a bigger version, but what would be the point? A single action solid frame spur trigger revolver was a viable pocket gun in 1880, but it wasn't competing against modern semiautomatic pocket pistols. The reason the NAA offerings survive in the market now is because they fill a niche as a tiny weapon. They don't make guns just because people like us think they would be neat; they're in a business to make money. Fortunately if you want a larger version of the NAA type there are plenty of similar antiques out there. Mine is a Defender 89 in .32 rimfire.

The .38 wadcutters are not better than a .32 Mag with a good hollow point.

By Wadcutters do you mean .38 S&W loads I used to shoot out of Webley .38/200. Those loads were rather anemic.
