I will be in Lincoln the weekend of January 31/Feb 1 to present my NE CCW+ class (that is NE + UT + FL). As with the December classes, there will also be a fun shoot after the class, where I will bring a "rapid ammo disposal" firearm for some giggles! (Ask those that attended in December and did this...we had way too much fun!)
The NE CCW+ classes are one day long (pick the best day to attend) and will start at 9:00am each day. The classes will be held at the Holiday Inn Express Conference Room, 3939 North 26th (that is just north of Cornhusker Highway and off of 27th). The range exercise will be at an indoor range about ten minutes from the class location.
Once the class is completed, participants may apply to Nebraska and two additional States....Utah and Florida. The Nebraska Permit is valid in about 15 States; adding either Utah or Florida gives you a total of about 30 States, making it an attractive option for those that travel. You may be aware that the State of Nevada recently determined that they will honor the Nebraska permit (and also the Utah permit), making the combination of permits (NE and UT) one of the best (if not THE best) combination of permits to secure.

The class includes the required 30 question written test for the Nebraska process, as well as a shooting exercise. Most people provide their own handgun for the range exercise; however, you can use one of mine at no cost (you provide the ammunition); the range has hearing and eye protection to use, but again most people would bring their own. There is no minimum caliber that is required. Although I am not sure if the range itself has any restrictions as to ammunition, the caliber should be a common handgun caliber (let's stay away from magnum loads for the class!)
Classes are fun and I think you will have a great time. Inasmuch as I am a retired attorney, I tend to place a great deal of emphasis on the legal issues...use of force, law enforcement interaction etc. People of all experience and ability levels are welcome.
Currently there are ample openings both days. Although "walk-ins" are accepted (subject to space being available), it is helpful to indicate attendance in advance in order that I am certain to bring enough materials. Again, all that is needed to pre-register is an e-mail note to me indicating the intention to attend, and how many in your group. Please note that you must be a resident of Nebraska with a valid Nebraska Driver's LIcense or other Nebraska State ID.

(PS: I also will be doing a session for Utah only...it will be Sunday, Feb 1, 6:00pm, same location. Adding on the Utah permit will double the number of States you would be legal.)
