I have an opportunity to purchase an older CZ75 from a friend. It is marked "model 75" as opposed to CZ75B. Anybody know how old that makes it? It has lots of rounds through it but looks to be in good shape. Flat black poly-based finish. $300 with two high caps. What should I look for in terms of wear and tear? Thanks in advance.

Sounds good to me. If it has a good trigger pull I'd buy it.

The firing pin safety "B" model was introduced in 1993 or 1995 IIRC, so that means the one you're looking at could have been made between '75 and '95ish.

Did you check the mark behind the ejection port to see the date of manufacture? I suppose the pre-B's have them - the B models do.

Youve got a "preB" or just a plain jane 75...great gun. Id check the slide to frame fit.......should be a tad loose with many rounds through it but not TOO LOOSE! The trigger should be very very nice and just shoot the hell out of it.
There isnt really much to break on the guns........just the hearts of the guys with the 2K $ 1911's at the range on your next visit! :D

Ok....Ive owned the 1911's too...but had to throw it in for good measure.

Shoot well................

You'll probably find the year of manufacture on the slide, in a little oval near the ejection port.

Pre-Bs are generally great guns.

Parts can be a problem for a few of the smaller parts that almost never break, but sometimes get lost in a detail strip -- safety parts, in particular -- and finding mags that fit may be a problem, too. (CZ factory mags will work, but many of the after-market mags won't.)

Except for that, you'll probably love it. Great "pointability," generally great accuracy. Some of them have wonderful triggers.

Ditto what everyone else said, great guns at great prices, if you get the urge for a second one jump on a cz40 while they are still around at cheap prices......tom

You shouldn't buy that communist manufactured model. You should only buy the B models that were built after democracy was restored to that country. Give me the guy's phone number and I will dispose of the gun properly.
