I don't know if this is in the correct forum, but I'll give it a go.

I purchased a set of sights for my Sig rifle on August 6th an still have not received them. The seller keeps claiming they shipped and has recently provided me with a tracking number which was wrong, it was for something in CA and I'm in CT. Now I have another which doesn't currently work. I think I'm getting the dance here and am out of patients.

Sadly I paid with a bank check so I am SOL in that regard, I wish I paid with paypal since I could just take it up them and my CC company.

I have already reported him to gunbroker as a non shipping seller, and they sent him an email. My question is has anyone dealt with this before? Supposedly gunbroker has an insurance policy that will reimburse me; I'd also like to get this guys account kicked off the site.

How else can I get this guy? Its only for $265 and he is on the other side of the country, so I don't think I can sue him in small claims. I don't want to spend to much time on it, its already pissing me off more than its worth.:fire:

A) Gunbroker will not help you. Ever. You will get the 'we're just the middlemen' response.

B) Go to your bank, report the fraud and they will return the funds to you account (bring documentation). You will have to sign an affidavit and may need to go to the police/FBI & report the theft.

C) Leave severely negative feedback for the seller to warn others. You will get negative feedback in return, but you may comment on it. Start with the phrase "Retaliatory Negative" and lay out the facts: I paid, no product arrived. No contact. I contact & seller provided fake tracking number.

I'm assuming you've emailed/called him and requested the product overnighted or an immediate refund.

Did the cost of shipping include insurance?? A good case for having your own insurance for sending and receiving.

If it's a scam I doubt the seller purchased insurance, if he even shipped at all.

Gunbroker will NOT help you, and if you press them or the seller too hard they will summarily freeze your account. Sad, but true.

If you still want to use GB as a resource, I recommend that you simply keep pushing the seller gently towards a resolution. Once you reach the point where you're willing to lose your GB privs, the advice in post #2 is a good start.
