20181102_080021.jpg 20181102_080021.jpg 20181102_080036.jpg Back in 2010 when my in-laws passed away, we we're cleaning out their house and I came across this small revolver. It has A&H on the grip and "Safety Police" stamped on the top of it. I was working in law enforcement at the time (retired now) and asked all the so called gun experts on the Department and nobody had a clue what it was. Could somebody please look at it and try to help me identify it? Thanks a lot!

The grip is marked H&A so it is probably made by Hopkins and Allen like said above.
Any markings on the barrel? You only show us 1 side.

Nice revolver, do you plan on shooting it?

No markings on either side of the barrel but the top says Safety Police and also says the Hopkins and Allen arms company, Norwich, CT. Do you think it's safe to shoot? To be honest, even after a 36 year career in law enforcement, I know very little about guns.

Welcome to the forum!

You should have a qualified gunsmith inspect this gun before attempting to shoot it. The ammunition is still available online, though pricey. Good luck!

Exactly, welcome to the forum and have it checked out before you shoot it.

Please let us know how it shoots if you can take it out. Do you know which cartridge it shoots?

Just remember, empty chamber under the hammer. These are really fun guns in either 32S&W or 38S&W and often really accurate. For a sample of old and new, the speed loaders you carry with it can have all five. If you get to the speed loader batch you'll leave it on a spent cartridge anyway.
