I have an imported parts build AMD 63, and recently decided that I would like to add optics to it in the near future. The rifle did not come with a side rail installed from the factory, and I didn't want to take it to a gunsmith, so I decided on the AK master mount as it seemed like a simple and rugged solution to my problem. Unfortunately it appears that my AK isn't quite like all the others, a piece of the magazine release is folded over the receiver, right next to the hammer pin hole. This prevents me from tightening down the screws provided with the AK master mount.
I could dremel it down, or I could attempt to bend the sheet metal back and then dremel it or cut it off. I don't really want to do any of this, but will if I need to, any suggestions would be appreciated.
