Have a G 36 I bought new 5 or so years ago when I felt the desire for something bigger than a l frame. I always heard great things about Glocks so thought I give one a try. I wanted a .45 and it is the smallest and lightest.
I had problems right out of the box with the slide locking up prematurely but a little smithing on the slide stop seemed to solve that problem.
It is now 100% with hardball, but no better than 50% with hollow points. I have tried multiple brands of ammunition in both magazines with no success. One mag has Pierce pinky extension but is not extra capacity. Other mag is completely factory. No modifications done to the gun other than night sights.
The cartridge completely stops as soon as it hits the feed ramp and will go no further. The ramp is very smooth with no rough spots. The cartridge is not tilted up and remains parallel with the the remaining ammo in the mag.
It isn't all that enjoyable to shoot so don't do it much (prefer 1911), but I would like it run JHP for carry if I want to.
Any thoughts, comments, or advise? (other than the obvious question as to why I waited so long to address this problem).
