I've had my 6.5" S&W 29-2 up for sale/trade locally, and one of the offers I got was for a S&W 27-2 with a 6" barrel in 96+% condition. The guy didn't say a lot about it, but it looks nice. Mine has a little holster wear on the end of the barrel, but it looks good, and has a holster and 3 sets of grips. I'm asking $600 for mine. I had it at $650 for awhile, and only got lowball crackhead offers. $550 is about the cheapest I ever see guns like mine going for around here though, and they're usually in worse shape and have the longer (less desireable) barrel, so I think $600 is a fair price.

I checked gunbroker for S&W 27s, and the prices are all over the place. Any idea on the value of a 96% 27-2?

I was originally just looking for a cheaper .357 like a ruger or something, that way I'd get some extra cash for reloading too, but I like S&W way more than ruger, and I also have a 629 that I shoot way better than my 29, so I'm not real attached to it (other than the fact that I'm obsessed with Dirty Harry).

How good are model 27s? I know nothing about them, but it looks like it's the same frame size as my 29. Are these durable enough to handle lots of shooting? Assuming this dude is talking about a straight across trade, would this be a fair deal? Anything else I should know?

Thanks
