Need recomendations for GP 9mm pistol & carbine load

I've been loading .45ACP, .44mag and .357 for years so I understand all the caveats that will come with any recommendation.

I recently picked up a Marlin Model 9 Camp Carbine and S&W 5906. They share the same magazines, so I'd like them to share ammo as well. I'm not looking for match quality accuracy; reliability is my primary goal.

So, where to start?
What Powder?
Which Bullet weight?
Bullet profile? I'm thinking something with a decent meplat for SD/camping/small game use

I'll work up loads of course, but am looking for a good starting point with this pistol/carbine combo.

I load for 2 9MM pistols and a Kel-Tec 9MM carbine and my plinking load is the same for all. I use 124 FMJ's plated or copper jacketed and use Unique powder with CCI 500 primers. My load with 124 FMJ's with Unique is 5.1 grains and has no issues with any 124 gr. bullet I've tried in any 9MM case I've tried. Overall length of my 124 FMJ's is from 1.150" to 1.160" depending on whether the bullet has a sharper nose or more rounded tip shape. Shoots accurately in pistols and carbine. Some don't like Unique as it doesn't meter well thru some powder measures but it's a good 9MM powder. For more serious loads I shoot Remington's Golden Saber 124 BJHP and Speer's 124 Gold Dots with 5.4 grains of Unique both loaded to 1.120-1.125" oal. You'll probably only going to gain from about 200-250 fps from the longer barrel of your Camp9 versus your pistol

Just be aware that a load that works perfectly in your handgun may not work so well in your carbine or vice versa.

My 9mil likes 4.1 gr of Tite Group under a 124 gr Berry's (either RN or HP)
Accuracy is great & it chronographs to about 1050 fps.

No idea how that would go with a carbine.

I believe Speer's manual has a warning against trying to load 147 gr. bullets for carbines, claiming that there is a risk of sticking a bullet in the bore with book loads. So not 147, if I'm recalling correctly.

Rainier makes an excellent 147 RNFP. I've also used the Winchester .356" 130 FMJ-FP in the Marlin carbine and various Glocks.

I like SR 7625 or Universal in the 9mm carbine.

I've never had any problems with 147's in carbines, but I usually use plated or FMJ where the risk of sticking a bullet or jacket in the bore is much lower than it is with a JHP.

If I recall correctly the the 3rd gen S&Ws have a short chamber. This was also an issue for me in handloading for the CZ P-01. I like the Remington 124 gr. JHP and it can be bought in bulk quantities of 1000 and multiples thereof. I like Silhouette for this application because it has a flash suppressant (for defense loads) and it burns clean. The following is a max load from the Sierra manual so reduce by 10% and work up. The Sierra load uses their 125 gr. JHP and is loaded shorter:

Sierra got 1150 FPS with this load fired from a Hi-Point with a 4" barrel. I haven't chronographed it yet.
