Howdy! I just placed an order for a RFB and of course am going to be needing some direction with regard to optics. My budget is roughly $250 (a lil more for a good deal isn't out of the question). Ranges up to 700 yards for a man sized target, with most shots being taken at 200 and under. Compactness is a hugeplus. I was thinking about a Barska I found t :ptics Planet in a 3-9x and priced at 220ish. I've read some negative stuff on Barska, but only on their $100 and under stuff.

Next up I'm looking for a similarly priced red dot for my FS2000. Right now I'm running a cheapy Tasco, which is surprisingly nice. But I wanted to upgrade and figured I should ask. And also looking at another Barska, this time its their 1x30 ACOG look alike. Range for this is 500 and under, most shots taken at 200 or less.

Any advice would be appricieated, thanks in advance!

Only advice I can offer is, there are no cheap good optics, period.

You spend $1,200+ on an RFB rifle?
Then don't expect to spend $100 or $250 on a good enough optic to put on it and expect it to to work a year from now.

With the price of .308 ammo, you can spend the price differance of a good scope on ammo screwing around with a cheap scope that won't adjust right or hold zero for two mags / 40 rounds.

Is it your shooting? Or is it the cheap scope?

Well, maybe I'll just shoot another five boxes $120 worth of ammo to see?
