In the course of war some people die.
None who survive ever wonder why.

It was our duty, and we were prepared.
It was a fate we all could have shared.

Some of my brothers, in that war, fell.
Some survived, though condemned to hell.

Burdened by memories that haunt their dreams,
Unable to quiet the bombs nor silence the screams.

So as you lay sleeping safe in your bed.
Know, on the battle field another soldier lay dead.

And while you are out laying down in the street,
That soldier in the field lay covered in a sheet.

But when you throw rocks and rail them with names,
As you search for a scapegoat for to lay the blame.

Understand it is they with the courage to fight.
And it was their blood that earned you that right.

I have an FN49 Egyptian model that will only run reliably on the Romanian 8mm ammo for whatever reason. Nice rifle but hard to find the ammo it likes.. Yes it's supposed to be adjustable gas system but a good bit of monkeying and trial and error... oy!
My LGS had a gorgeous Luxembourg FN49 in .30-06. I antagonized long and hard about it before I had to walk away.....

It’s really just junk in a box.
I showed it to my older son, Austin, yesterday when he got home from work. He had some questions. One question was about the Muslim prayer beads. He asked if the guy that I got them from tried to get me to convert. I told him that I ran into him in Kuwait City and he asked about the Mardi Gras beads hanging from my flak jacket. He found them very interesting so, I gave them to him. He reached into his pocket and gave me the prayer beads. There were three other Kuwaiti police officers, one had a four inch blued Colt Python. To bad I didn’t have something I could’ve traded for it.:)

No ammo in them, just stock parent. This one has shotgun stocks.

The other has Enfield stocks parts.

The Enfield has been one my favorite rifles to restore over the years. I have a lot more gun stocks that I have accumulated over 29 years of doing stock work, restoration and repair.

Or how about a once fired Mark 19 practice grenade. I picked this up many years ago.

I have always wanted a three pound bronze cannon. Well, maybe golf ball sized bore.
A singing, polished bronze cannon. Like the one named "Long Tom" in "Pan".

It would also be great to have a "Jolly Roger" to sail around Lake Michigan!:)

LOL, and here I was thinking I was the only one ... bachelor, wife gone 10+ yrs ago, every square foot that's not walkway, seating or sleeping filled with 'my stuff'

I don’t really care for the Russian weaponry, but those ID guides are cool enough I would have those bad boys framed and displayed, assuming I got the go ahead from the chief decorator
