Never know what you’re going to find

Well, today I went out to my shed for something and for some reason I decided to open one of my Mosin crates. The one on the bottom, I bought full of Hex Mosins a few years ago for $1700. The Mosin are in the house and the crate is empty. Top one was an extra one I had picked up. I thought it was empty, but I was wrong. I had forgotten that I had stored some gun stocks in it a few years ago when I was cleaning up.

Two M1 Garand stocks. The one on the left is US GI and needs a repair on the left side. The other is Danish, made from Beechwood. Would love to find a matching set of handguards for it.

Then there are two more boxes

Then there was this metal ammo box. It has two USMC shelter halfs with tent poles, stakes and a hammer. Used to use it on camping trips with my oldest son.

When you say "some gun stocks" what you really mean is it's like a dozen or more! Got to love the mass quantities you have stashed away of everything; it's like being in the biggest privately owned Army/Navy/Marine Corps store!

I don't think he would REALLY kill for that ammo. I think he would like it, but I don't think he wants it as bad as it might seem. After all... I think he is one of the law-abiding types...
I haven't heard him mention it for at least three days. Plus, that's only a magazine or two!

If you’re not familiar with French ammo, the primers they used were trash and don’t have a long shelf life. I did try to shoot some but they were all duds. The ammo is worth more to collectors. They are worth about a dollar a round.
If Ian really needs some, I’ll send him a box if he covers shipping.

Looks like I’ll be getting back to work on my shop.
My son got rid of his guinea pigs and with them out of my way I can get some work done and maybe find some more stuff.
Not sure if I want to build a gun rack here or buy that rolling tool cabinet with the wood top at Home Depot to put here.

Going to clean out this corner and move the bench to the corner.

That way I han put this on the other end of the bench.

Wow, that is quite the long stock! It looks to me like a G98 or something very similar, but it looks long even for that! Of course, I suppose it could be camera angle/distortion...

I say tool cabinet. If it’s the one I’ve been eyeing I think you’ll like it. I’ve pretty much decided on one, it’s just a matter of when and if I find a better deal.

It’s a Gewehr 98 stock. It needs some repairs, 3 or 4.

You say a "few" stocks the way my Dad says a "few" cattle or a certain unnamed idiot that shall remain my brother says a "few" problems.

Those are just a few stocks, I have a lot more. :)

I went with the tool cabinet. Regular price, $348, on sale for $248. I needed something to sort out all my tools.

Great choice!

Getting your tools organized is the key here. Once that's done everything else will just fall into place.

At least that's what they tell me but I have yet to see that happen!
