Help me choose a new 380

I am looking for a new carry 380. Which would you choose and why?
Sig p238
Colt Mustang
Kimber Micro

Thanks for your thoughts.

I quite like my Walther PK380, just had it out shooting again last weekend. For a single action gun I would probably go with the EAA compact Pavona. My daughter has this in .380 and with the 14 round doublestack mag it makes a fine shooting pistol.

Have the Colt Mustang and the SIG P238. Both are outstanding .380s in terms of accuracy and reliability. I also have a KelTec P3AT for those occasions when I want to carry something extremely small and lightweight.

Bought myself a Sig 238 for pocket carry. Took it home and the wife liked it so much I got back in the car and bought her one. If you like a single action with 1911 style controls then the P238 is a great little pistol. I like mine with the Sig rubber grips. Wife prefers her rosewood grips. The Sig night sights are great. Didn't have to adjust either pistols sights as they both were dead on. Hornady factory 90gr. XTP and FTX loads are accurate plus my 90 XTP handloads. Negatives are few. You have to push up on the magazine and make sure it locks in. Sig magazines for it are expensive at $40 plus. Original cost is high for the pistol but worth it in my opinion. The extended 7 round mags give you one more finger on the grip but I like the 6 round flush fit for my pocket carry. There are several models to choose from so pick your favorite. Ours have been 100% reliable with no malfunctions. The P238 is the only semi-auto that the wife can easily operate the slide which is smooth and not too much recoil spring pressure. I had a Colt Gov't .380 and have a Bersa Thunder but prefer by a wide margin the Sig P238.

I have a P238 and it is a fine pistol, but I really like and prefer my Glock G42 for carry and when I need something smaller and lighter it is always my TCP.

I have an older Government Model .380 that I use when teaching. I like the extra shot, and the fact that the guns are actually big enough to hold. Had an ambi-safety put on in the early 2000's from Scott & McDougal, along with a metal recoil rod. Easy to rack slide, mags fit without slamming them into place. They have gotten pricey, though. Might be an indication of how much people like them.

The new Polymer Mustang has the ambidextrous safety, low recoil, and shoots quite well in smaller hands, though.

I would go with the 238. Had problems with extractor on a Mustang I was renting. The shop told me the extractor is not a spring and pivot type. The tension on the Mustang is from the extractor arm bending and not from a spring. Had to take the extractor off and bend it a little to adjust it.

I carry the P238 and really like the compact size. I also just like the feel of the gun.

After many years of sitting on the fence, my wife finally decided she wanted to CCW. She settled on a Glock 42. I don't much care for Glocks, but it's still a good choice.

I have four or five 380's. My Colt Government is excellent and is similar, but slightly larger than the ones on your list. The extra size and weight make recoil very mild and it is quite accurate.

Out of that list, the Sig.

Out of all .380's, Kahr CW380, Ruger LCP with the tall sights, Taurus TCP, and Bersa Thunder.

It cracks me up when you list three pistols ( I have all three) and the responses suggest other items altogether. Sine I have all three I feel qualified to give an unbiased account, first I would rate each of the pistols as excellent firearms and you would not go wrong with any one of the three. If I could purchase only one I would rate them as:
1. Sig P238
2. Kimber Micro
3.. Colt Mustang
All three are well made with aluminum frame and SS slide, the Sig has the best sights followed closely by Micro (Sig has night sights, Micro some models and Colt none). The Sig has a variety of nice checkered wood, G10 or plastic on a model or two while Kimber and Colt offer plastic on most models and checkered wood on a few. I purchased a set of checkered rose wood for my micro and trashed the plastic ones while my Colt is still sporting the original checkered plastic.
All three pistols are totally reliable although the Sig is the only one that has never malfunctioned and both the Colt and Miro required a break in period of five or six mags before reliablity. There are other features that make each pistol unique, however, the Stig stands out as my first choice.

Browning 1911-380....."The RIGHT 380".....after trying the three listed...and many others....when the Browning 1911-380 came along...it was just right.....my wifes has been 100% reliable....and the fact it matches in operation...our 1911...45s and Browning HPs....is a no brainer....and we own them..not rent/read/borrow....

Just ordered one of these from Davidson's. Price is $335.26 with all fees and tax.

I have been wanting a high capacity 380 for some time now.
Tanfoglio Witness Pavona advertised as 13+1 capacity, but I have seen a number of posts on the internet stating the magazine actually holds 14 rounds.

Also found magazines on sale at Lyman's regular $40 on sale for $25 and ordered 3.

I have a p238 that I really like. Can't even tell it is there. 100% reliable for me so far. I carry it on the farm and it is always covered in filth. I did pick up a browning 1911-380 because it was on sale for $485 at my lgs. Fits the hand very nice and light

Sig P238

I bought my P238 in December 2013 and in the two years I've owned it have probably put four to five thousand rounds through it with no gun failures.
It's my carry gun so I shoot it weekly to stay sharp as possible.
I use an inside the waistband holster and it conceals really well.
Sig is also user friendly. I recently lost a grip screw and Sig sent me four more free of charge.
Good company and a great firearm!

P238 Equinox is my EDC... reliable and easy to shoot straight. 6 shots in the Xring at 25' is actually an easy feat with the stock sights.
I use CorBon Powerball 90gr for my carry rounds
DeSantis Nemesis for pocket carry

Browning 1911-380....."The RIGHT 380".....after trying the three listed...and many others....when the Browning 1911-380 came along...it was just right.....my wifes has been 100% reliable....and the fact it matches in operation...our 1911...45s and Browning HPs....is a no brainer....and we own them..not rent/read/borrow....
I'm making this my next .380, at first I was turned off by the plastic frame but I've changed my mind so after the first of the year I'll start my hunt for one at a LGS.
