New Ammo bill for Illinois

Looks like the 6 county Chicago metro area is now going to completely control politics in Illinois. I have a brother and daughter in McHenry County.

If this passes, I don't see us being able to have ammunition shipped from out of state as companies won't want to be responsible for maintaining that database.

I'm not sure I can take 4 years of JB the Hut and stay in this state. The recent proposed bills that are solely designed to make it onerous for businesses to deal in firearms and try to drive them out of business make me ill. Time to stock up on ammo and reloading supplies!

Is anything mentioned about reloading supplies, and will they be taxed?

It said ammunition, so I don’t know about reloading supplies, but I stocked up just in case.

Can't remember where I read it (I think it was the brief on the Gen. Assy.'s website) but the word "bullet" was mentioned. So yes, they are going to try on reloading supplies.

Does the IL bill address out-of-state purchases? Or will it affect bullet casting?

I grew up in Chicago, and back in the day my Dad and I drove up to Wisconsin to purchase reloading components, ammo, and other shooting supplies at the original Gander Mountain store in Wilmot - prices made it worth the trip back then. I remember that a box of 500 swaged Speer 148 grain .38 caliber HBWC bullets could be had for around $7. (Gander Mountain changed repeatedly over the past decades - it simply isn't the same store today as it was back then.)
