I recently posted a thread about leather, belts and holsters. My issue was my combo was very squeaky and the belt had stretched. I mentioned I was in the market for a new belt.
NOTE, my old belt was a quality solid 1/4" thick locally USA made leather belt. It has been a great belt but over a couple of years had worn/stretched to the point where I was unhappy. Also the squeaking, and yes I tried everything suggested on here and the rest of the web to ease that.
So to make this story longer, today I bought a Blade Tech ratchet belt. I got one of the nylon ones in order to try and appease the squeaking. After wearing it for just an afternoon I will say my impressions are positive. I love the adjustability with the ratchet system. The belt itself is not overly stiff but seems plenty adequate for an EDC belt. The squeaky has lessened a lot although I have now found that some of the noise is coming from my leather pancake holster. I may end up switching out to a kydex even though I love my leather.
So we'll see how this belt looks in 6-12mths and who knows, maybe I'll end up buying one of the higher priced ratchet belts. But as of right now I'm thrilled with the Blade Tech.
