I just received my new glock knife today and although it is 'sharpened' it is not 'sharp' also it doesn't have a point at the moment. What is the best way to sharpen the blade to a 'shaveing' hone and also, add the point? (it doesn't look broken by the way, just like they didn't sharpen it to a point.)

I'd either take it to a knife shop and let them do it, or read the FAQ in this section, get a stone and start sharpening. :)

Make an investment on he last knife sharpener you will ever need. Get a Spyderco Tri-Angle Sharp maker. It comes with a video explaining it's use and you will really need to watch it. A friend of mine told me about them and he did an article in SWAT Magaine about them. He says it makes knife "Deadly Sharp" and he is correct.

It is by far the easiest and quickest way to get a proper arm hair popping (aka. Shaving) edge on a knife. Also it will sharpen most serrated blades as well. I have heard that some knife makers even use this sharpener (besides Spyderco). If you can afford it get the premium Spyderco Diamond sticks which are steel covered with diamond particle that will speed up correcting damaged edges on blades.

Yea, I sell it at work but this is such an important tool that y'all should get one where ever you can find it, but I wouldn't mind if you bought it from us.
