My used 15-2 came with the factory neoprene grip, which was alright but not really to my taste. I had a chunk of wood that I got from a building-material salvage place. It's nice and dense with good working qualities; I figured it would make a nice grip for the Dan Wesson. I got it cut and fitted to the gun, rough-shaped it and then started removing wood until it felt just right. I finished it up with some clear Minwax. I'll take it to the range and try it out soon, but I really like the look and feel.

Looks great. I always did like how DW revolvers had that small grip stud and the grips were full for lack of a better term. Used to have a model 12(?) many moons ago- the one with the pork chop barrel.

That has a very close resemblance to the big DW target grips... they look nice! I've found the grip profile on the DW to be the best recoil-absorbing shape I've ever experienced on a revolver, I have a 6" DW .41 with target grips and I can shoot full house loads without problems, vs my S&W .41 with the same loads.

I though the overall shape seemed familiar!
