Have you ever dug a firearm out of your safe that you have not used in years and put him back in the starting lineup?

When I was a high school duck & goose hunter, I saved up my money and purchased a Browning B80. Money from my part time jobs. 30" barell, fixed full choke, 3" magnum. Well I grouse hunt and shoot trap. It doesnt cycle the light loads like todays auto loaders. So in the back of the safe it sat..... last time goose hunting? 1987

Well, last year I went pheasant hunting in SD with a bunch of guys. Had a great time. I really do not have a shotgun setup for pheasant. I actually took a two shotguns, both borrowed. One over-under from my brother-in-law with screw in chokes that I used the most. Sort of embarrassing considering I just turned 50 and I own two non-empty gunsafes. I have been looking at inertia and gas semiauto shotguns and saving up for a pheasant shotgun.

From time to time I had discussed having the barrel modified for screw in chokes. I had also looked for a barrel online and at gunshows. I would browse the more popular barrel purchase sites and gun parts sites. The Browning B80 was made by Beretta and is considered by some as a Beretta A302+ or an A303-. Regardless, it takes the same barrels. However, it seemed I missed my window and I would never find a barrel that would allow this shotgun to be of more use.

Well last week I noticed a B80, 28", modified fixed choke, 3" magnum barrel online in 95% condition. I purchased it and got it in two days. It fits. I removed the magazine plug and I am good to go for at least this year. Need to get it to the range and get tuned in with it.
