Listed as a new product for 2020 on the Lyman website is the new Lyman Signature Series Great Plains Rifle by Pedersoli.
It has a 1 in 24" twist barrel that's slightly shorter at 30".
It will be offered in flint & percussion, and in .50 and .54, and is listed as weighing 14 pounds.
The percussion model is priced @ $1049.99, the flint @ $1119.99, but neither are in stock yet.

Looks like a nice rifle. I think the 14lb weight has got to be a mistake. The Pedersoli Rocky Mtn. Hawken is only about 10lbs, maybe 14lbs is the shipping weight with all the box and packaging, ect.

You're right.
It's pretty much the exact same rifle as the Missouri River Hawken except that it also comes in flintlock and isn't browned.
The Lyman percussion version has a slightly lower price than from many retailers, but not all.
And it's listed at Midway as weighing about 9.2 pounds.

One reviewer states about the Missouri River Hawken:
This is the most amazing traditional black powder rifle out there. Unmatched accuracy and looks are very nice. Only problem is a very poor ramrod design. I'm not a novice to black powder. The ram rod end literally fell off the first MR Hawken I brought home. Cabelas stood behind the product and gave me a whole new rifle. The same end came off today during very light cleaning. I expect more from a rifle costing as much as I paid for this one. --->> https://www.gearbuyer.com/products/pedersoli-missouri_river_hawken_rifle.html

The 24 twist is for the "Hunter" model, not the standard Great Plains.
(The ad is poorly written in that regard)

The 50 cal is 1-48 (same* as my Missouri River... and probably is my MR one step up) ;)
The 54 is a traditional 1-mid-60s

* My MR is actually a 45... with a 45 twist (natch) :neener:

Thanks for clarifying important details.

I called Lyman and asked about the twist rates for the new Signature Series guns.
Nick in customer service said that both the .50 & .54 calibers are available with 1 in 48", 1 in 65" and 1 in 24" twist rates.
Only the 1 in 24" twist Hunter barrels are 2 inches shorter at 30".

I also asked if the Investarms Great Plains rifles will be discontinued or not.
And he said that "they will continue to be imported for now anyway".

Looks like a nice rifle. The 14lbs has to be a misprint. My Rocky Mountain Hawken is a boat anchor, at least a pound heavier than the GPR but it's still lighter than that. The standard GPR is great but Pedersoli definitely builds a nicer rifle than Investarms.

The .54 percussion shows in stock.

You couldn't pry my Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken .54 out of my cold dead hands. A great gun, and a good shooter.

At that price, one is starting to get into custom build prices. As impressed as I am with what Pedersoli does, I would scratch up a few more bucks and find myself a custom-built rifle. For some reason, a custom hawken is lower priced than a lot of other custom muzzle loaders.
