New Maverick Home Defender ( pics )

OK I bought my first home defense shotty ( I do own a single 20 gauge )

I went to my local gun store with intentions of buying a new handgun even though I just bought one 2 weeks earlier, lol anyway. I got distracted from the handguns by a big black piece of b-e-a-utiful METAL lol

Its a Mossberg Maverick 88 Security with an 8 shot mag and 20 inch barrel, synthetic stock and bead sight.

Sooooooooooo I came home and hit ebay right away with intentions of buying a light mount and light for home defense, Well 300 dollars later I have a few things coming and it will be really sweet when I get her done.


here is what I ordered so far

ATI Top folding stock
ATI heat shroud with ghost sights
3 Point Sling
Barrel Sling Mount
3 accessory rail mount ( for lights and stuff )
Tactical Flashlight ( for home defense )
Tactikoooooool Laser

and I also purchased some Brightsights ghost glow sight paint to try it out on the metal ghost sights

word of warning, a shotgun has a pretty strong kick. the light may not hold up too well.

yeah I kinda thought that, if it doesnt then ill order one that will lol, I really need a light as I live out in the country and once in a while I need to go out to see who is in my driveway smoking dope or drinking beer and the light definitely helps blind them and keep them under control ( as well as see what they are doing while the cops are on the way )

yep I have purchased 100 game shot for break in and some 00 buckshot and a box of slugs

going to buy another 100 game shot this weekend

200 rounds is not much more than I will shoot today.

Less bling, more ammo will give better results.

Yeah Im actually looking around for a good deal on some bulk ammo, do you have any idea where I could get 500-1000 good rounds for less

No, but check the prices at Able Ammo, Ammoman, etc.

Also, the local box sporting goods stores like Dick's. Sales happen.

Been a couple if years back, but my local Dunham's Sporting Goods (Same as Big 5 for you guys way out West) put a whole messa Federal 6, 7-1/2, & 8-sixed shot shells (red box, before Federal started using all the different color boxes) for $3/box. Took me 2 days, but I cleaned off the shelf. I have about 300 of each shot size still on hand

To me (and it looks like to you as well) half the fun of guns is shooting, the other half building them to your wants and collecting them. Nothing wrong with that.

Estate (Federal) 00Buckshot from Cabelas is a good deal for high quality buckshot, it comes with a cool ammo box too.
