Hi All,
Long time lurker, registered mostly for the use of the search feature... gotta love searching:neener:

I live in the midwest and enjoy shooting my Taurus PT-101, and my AR-7 (when its not jammed :) )

My baby however is my M-1 Garand, its nothing special, IH receiver with a Blue Sky re-barrel, but it's a ton of fun to shoot and I really appreciate the history behind the rifle and the men who carried it in harm's way.

I'll keep lurking and absorbing the good info available here, and I'll chime in if I can contribute.

Hi all...

I am new to the forum...

Hail from Detroit, like the shooting sports, like motorcycles, GA aircraft, have a lot of hobbies but not enough time to do them all!

This seems like a great place to talk guns, hunting, etc. so I joined. I'm a revolver guy and especially like snubbies. I've had a couple semi-auto pistols but always end up trading them off for another revolver. I also enjoy reading about rifles and shotguns as well. I'm a native east Tennesseean. Lots of great places to hunt here. Great forum and look forward to it.

Ron

Hi everyone

I'm Rj from oregon

I've been lurking, found alot of usefull information here. This is my first post.

Just purchased an AR-15 from Bushmaster, very cool.

Anyways I broke down and registered because I need some advice. As I just mentioned I got an AR-15 and was wondering what my next firearm can be. I would like it to be somewhat unique, it would be very cool if it used the same magazines as my AR, it has to look cool (yes I'm shallow I know so you don't have to rag on me for it), it dosn't have to be a specific caliber but again if it uses the same magazines as the AR its a plus in my book, and somewhat reliable and accurate. Also I don't want to spend too much over $1000.

I know its a tall order and I doubt I can find all that in one gun but I've seen some people that really knows their stuff here so I thought id give it a shot.

To give you folks an idea of what I'm looking at I've thought about one of the AK-47 clones, Kel-Tec SU-16D (would be my first SBR), Ruger Mini-14/30, XCR and M96 rifles by Robinson Armament Co. (these cost more than what I want to pay), ...stuff like that.

As much as I would like another AR I don't know how I could explain it to my lady that its not the same as the last one i bought. Also my collection would look a little neater if it was something different.

Finaly I'm guessing you guys would ask me what it would be used for, basicaly plinking, target shooting, hunting small stuff, defense if needed.

So basicaly an all-round kinda gun that looks cool? IDK anyways Hello again and any suggestions or point me in some directoin that would be cool. Probably gonna settle on a WASR anyways but just looking for some fresh ideas.

Cheers

Lurker from MO here. Mainly read the S&T forum, but other threads too if the caption interests me. Interest in long and hand guns about equally. If you guys are looking to get a THR shoot together on the West side of MO, I'd appreciate a PM or Email.

Hi, Sam here. Have never really had a huge interest in guns but have owned a 9mm ruger for about 10 years. Wife and I moved to the country ( guessing a police response time of minimun 10 minutes ) recently and decided we should own some self defence guns. Just bought a FN SLP shotgun to add to the Ruger. Found this site a wealth of information. Thanks to everyone for sharing their thoughts. I believe a couple hours spent here has saved me about a years worth of research on my own.

Did you experience much hassle while obtaining the legal stuff for the Benelli?

Doug from Maine, checking in. Another fifty-something military vet. (USAF Security Police, 1974-82.)
I've read a lot of archived THR messages while Googling around for info (mfg. dates, upgrades, etc.) on various parts of my (relatively small) gun collection. Learned a bunch of things I hadn't seen before.
I'm thinking of going back into law enforcement, after a long time around but not in the field. Not that anyone needs an "excuse" to spend time on a firing range, but qualification will be one good reason to "go punch some paper."
See ya on the firing line.

10+ years former military, 13+ years former law enforcement (sounds like I can't hold a job!) and current owner of a small gun store in the mountains of Colorado specializing in AR type rifles and 1911 pistols, mostly Kimbers.

I've lurked on THR for a while but decided it was time to join in the discussions.

Looking forward to it.

Hi!

Hi, my name is Kahramon, I love guns.
Appreciate AK-74SU (Krinkovs), MP-5KA3, HK G36K, PK-Pecheneg, Barrett.
Also fan of everything which has integrated suppressor.
Dream gun is AK underfolder/full-auto wearing cherry furniture, with underbarrel GP-30.
Nice to meet all of You!

It's a hassle getting an FAC, but once you have it, you can buy whatever you are allowed to/asked for. The Benelli is a great gun, it's just that it's a little difficult finding tacticool stuff for it here in the UK. Th 9 shot mag is totally legal on a section 1 allowance.

:D

How's it goin?

Hi, I'm a new member from the granite state and it's wicked good to be a member here. I'm a big bore revolver fan, Ruger Alaskan .44 Mag, Taurus 445 hammerless and so on. I' m a C-n-R license holder and I'll tell you, get one, it's so fun to have the UPS (What can Brown do to you today?) guy show up on your porch with an armload of rifles and about two thousand rounds of ammo. It's worth the dogs barking and the neighbors staring. Love my country, love my wife and love my kids. what else is there?:)

Sorta new

Well, I joined a few months ago, and have read a lot and posted a bit.

I like guns. I'm an independent old cuss, and I like the thought that no one but me is responsible for my safety. I've been around guns most of my life, knew how to shoot from an early age, spent 22 years in the military (but wasn't allowed to carry weapons in the AF :barf: ). After moving here to VA, where open carry is legal and CHL is not very difficult, I carry both open and concealed, depending.

I've never been a collector. I have a 9mm, and a 380, and I plan to pick up a .45, and a 1911-style .45. Then I'll probably be done.

My focus is much more on gun rights, so that's where I'm trying to channel my efforts.

Ya'll should have seen me up home in Massachusetts last weekend, Veterans Day no less, defending my choice to carry a gun!

Hi everyone, im a new member, but a long time lurker. Im from Kansas city and ive always been interested in guns, and i love target shooting

I would post some of the pictures of my pistols, but i dont know how to get them from Word, to here.

Kinda New

I'm Brian and I'm from Iowa(insert Iowa Joke here). I served in the Marine Corps for 5 years and I'm an OIF veteran. I'm also a big believer that anyone of sound mind should be able to carry a weapon provided they've learned how to use it and have good judgement to know when to use it. I, myself do not carry since it is almost impossible to obtain a concealed weapons permit here in Iowa, but, more often than not, there's really no need to carry a weapon where I live. Currently, I own a Tanfoglio 9mm compact pretty much just for home defense, though occasionally, I would feel a bit safer if I did carry it with me. Strange things do occur here in Iowa. I haven't yet seen any feed back or threads concerning Tanfoglio guns. If anyone has some input, it would be much appreciated since this is the first pistol I've owned that wasn't issued to me and I've only fired one other Tanfoglio product.

Just wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I've just gotten out of the Navy over a year ago and now I'm in school. Can't wait to get out of California and move back to a more gun-friendly environment, although San Diego is not a terrible place to be.

John
