Hello everyone, I got my first shotgun when I was 9. I was learned that a weapon was meant for feeding the family and home protection. Don't know what this generation has been told. Thanks for letting me introduce myself

Hey guys, been reading posts for about a year, and finally joined today! Im a lifelong Alaskan of 29 years. I have a revolver problem, and i love levers, bolts, and anything ww2. Im getting more into amateur gunsmithing, especially wood checkering, which ive been doing about a year now. Would live to see any pics of your handy work on stocks/grips. Ive done most my work by hand, but i do have an mmc electric checkerer i have used much yet. Any advice appreciated. Also if you have alaska related questions, i have been many places around the state for work.

Hi!
This thread is a place for new THR members to introduce themselves.

Tell us a little about who you are and what kind of gun stuff you're interested in!
hello : I'm an avid gun person .Been shooting and collecting for 40 plus years. Most interested in accuracy and long range shooting. I've joined this site to educate myself on the AR platform which is highly regulated and restricted here in Canada. I figure the AR platform is the natural evolution of the rifle and want to learn as much as I can . I own a stag arms model 6 and want to do a build on a second gun . I figure this is the best place where I can find the information I seek. Looking forward to communicating with likeminded individuals. Thank You

Hi, all, just found this forum!
I'm a reloader nowadays, once was an instructor (rifle, general handling, marksmanship) until an accident removed my once 20-15 vision. It's not all bad, though: the odd sort of astigmatism it left me with gives me 30 pins to bowl at on a given bowling lane, and 3 times more targets to shoot at on a range.
;)

Welcome to the forum. I’m sorry to hear about your accident and vision issues. I hope you find that most folks here are decent. Some are amazing. And we’re lucky to only have a rare bad apple every now and then. So overall it’s one of the better forums on the web. So jump on in and again welcome.

Hi, I've been a member now for a few weeks. I've always been a firearm enthusiastic, but only in the last few years have I really gotten into it. My main interest is firearms for emergency preparedness. I live by the less is more philosophy. The more guns you own, the less you shot each one. So having a select number for myself and my family is how I roll. I got a thing for revolvers and shotguns, doesn't get any better than that. Really enjoy reading THR, one my favorite places to come for opinions and info.

Stopping by to say hello to everyone,
I'm a big cap and ball fan with lots of years of shooting them, the information here is unbelievable.

Hi all,

Long time lurker, new member. Live outside Indy, Carmel. Marine Vet 100% combat disabled, shoot 2-3 times a week, mostly .22's with a few 9's just to stay in practice. I don't shoot plastic handguns or rifles. I am a steel and wood man, ( read old fart) but I will defend you 100% if you do.

Spent two years, 1968-1970 in that Asian Paradise, Vietnam, as a Marine Grunt in I Corps, Quang Tri Province. Cam Lo, Dong Ha, Qua Viet, Vandergrift Fire base, Witches T*t, Mudders Ridge. All the fun places from the South China Sea to, and into, Laos.

Hope I don't step on any toes BUT the usual 'site bullies' that like to pick on the new guys are welcome to send me a P.M. and we can discuss anything. :):):):):):)

Howdy All !
Thought this might be a good site to share and receive good information on firearms reviews, good shooting practices and legal advice, as well as
sharing thoughts on the current climate we find ourselves in, regarding regulation and citizens' rights.
I have a nice collection of a select number of handguns and rifles, with my current passion being the most expensive, Shotguns !!
Have been playing the clay disciplines since last November and really enjoying them !

If any of you should have questions concerning wine or spirits, please allow me to opine. I am a thirty-one year veteran of the wholesale
wine and spirits industry.

Welcome to THR and thank you for your service.

Well, hello..... this is my 2nd post, but I'm a new guy.... I have been a member over at the Smith and Wesson and Colt forums for awhile, thought I should join here as well. Also belong to the 1911 and Remington Society forums as well. I've been shooting and working on and with guns most of my life. I have put some information in the "about me" box, which I guess everyone can see. Hope to learn a lot here, and look forward to spending some time with you guys!!

Evening,
Just happened across this fine looking forum while researching an old military Navy holster for the 1911 that turns out to be a superb wilderness/inclement weather holster at a killer price; just trying to find some videos or information on how they drew their 45, can be cumbersome to pull, but otherwise is secure, offering great protection, and solidly built...
California outdoorsman, hunter, longbowman, guitarist with a lifelong interest in accurate long rifles, leverguns, sxs doubles, western and tactical pistols, auto and revolver (who could live without a revolver to pack in a hunt on horseback and a good 40 auto for city varmints?) Black powder when I can work it in, and don't leave out those wonderful 22 rimfire cartridges that seem to have lost some of their popularity but not their superb utility and performance, in the hands of an excellent shooter.
There are a lot of misconceptions about California shooters-this was OUR State before the present Traitors took over, while the larger cities and southern coastal regions are "occupied" we country & mountain folk have always been here, and have found ourselves on the front lines...
Well anyhoo nice to be around some fine discussions,
keep your powder dry,

I hear they just passed some anti gun law in Oregon

Hi everyone

I'm Rj from oregon

I've been lurking, found alot of usefull information here. This is my first post.

Just purchased an AR-15 from Bushmaster, very cool.

Anyways I broke down and registered because I need some advice. As I just mentioned I got an AR-15 and was wondering what my next firearm can be. I would like it to be somewhat unique, it would be very cool if it used the same magazines as my AR, it has to look cool (yes I'm shallow I know so you don't have to rag on me for it), it dosn't have to be a specific caliber but again if it uses the same magazines as the AR its a plus in my book, and somewhat reliable and accurate. Also I don't want to spend too much over $1000.

I know its a tall order and I doubt I can find all that in one gun but I've seen some people that really knows their stuff here so I thought id give it a shot.

To give you folks an idea of what I'm looking at I've thought about one of the AK-47 clones, Kel-Tec SU-16D (would be my first SBR), Ruger Mini-14/30, XCR and M96 rifles by Robinson Armament Co. (these cost more than what I want to pay), ...stuff like that.

As much as I would like another AR I don't know how I could explain it to my lady that its not the same as the last one i bought. Also my collection would look a little neater if it was something different.

Finaly I'm guessing you guys would ask me what it would be used for, basicaly plinking, target shooting, hunting small stuff, defense if needed.

So basicaly an all-round kinda gun that looks cool? IDK anyways Hello again and any suggestions or point me in some directoin that would be cool. Probably gonna settle on a WASR anyways but just looking for some fresh ideas.

Cheers

Hey there. :neener:

I had to sign up because the “ Ash Street Shootout - Rangers vs Gang Members” thread I found on Google. I was watching a YouTube vid of a retired Ranger tell the story of his friend.

Great story.

Howdy folks, I just signed up this morning and I can't really claim to be a lurker as I just stumbled across this forum yesterday. I've been reloading for over 40 years and casting bullets for close to 30 and although I own a variety of guns, here lately my focus has been on leverguns and revolvers. I also try to hunt and fish every chance I get.

Greetings all. I've lurked for about 2 weeks and the respectful and professional tone of the forum convinced me to effort towards an attempt to take part in any meager way I can with what I consider a truly great intellectual pursuit. In both scientific and philosophical terms, THR defines the advancement of human freedom and I'm overjoyed to have stumbled upon this community.

Hi everyone.
I'm a liberal gun enthusiast. I live in TX and I have been around firearms since I was a little kid. I collect guns and I regularly go to the range. Because of all this, I am horrified by the shootings that have taken place lately, and I am also pained by the political discussion it has generated. I am happy to join a community of responsible gun owners. I advocate responsible gun ownership myself, and I support people who do the same.
I like to give shout-outs to other people I find who are responsible gun owners or advocate for responsible gun ownership. Anytime I run across a site worth checking out I will post it. The latest site I found is
http://thegunsafeauthority.com
Although they are an Amazon affiliate, I don't hold that against anyone who is advocating for responsible gun ownership.
I look forward to having discussions with all of you, I think this forum is going to be a great resource for connecting with like-minded people. Hope everyone is having a great day, and ALWAYS STORE YOUR FIREARM SAFELY!

Hi All,

Luger Fan here. Indiana resident, Disabled Marine Vet, 2 times a week shooter, with costs mostly .22's these days. I don't own a 'assault weapon' but I am a NRA member and will defend, to the end, your right to own as many as you can afford.

Being 100% Disabled I have a lot of time, and not much money, so I hope to get to know a lot of you here.
