Hi, I am a 72yr old retired business man from Ok. I enjoy shooting just about any type of firearm. I just became a member and am looking forward to reading the posts. I came across this site while looking for a factory original magazine for my Star Firestar m-43 Plus. these mags are extremely hard to find, and very expensive when you do. I was lucky enough to find 4 of them @ $75 each. if anyone is needing 1 or 4? You can reach me at [email protected]

New member here, central east coast of Florida, own a PT111 G2, and bersa 380. and my CW Remington R51, I know there is a lot of bad talk about the R51 , but I have nothing bad to say, I just finished putting 1000 rounds threw her , and not a stumble, I see on the net and forums that its a problem pistol, but it is talking about the recall guns, I have the R51 Gen2 , if you havnt bin able to shoot the gun why talk bad about it , I can say if u never shoot it go spend 300,00 and try it ,you will love the gun , all I can say , o ya donot shoot reloads and then complain use NEW ammo , you wouldn't buy a new car and use ,used gas that's bin sitting in a open barrel would you , or race a car with 13.1 compression and use 87 octane gas ,, then mabe u would,, hope iam welcome in the forum

Good Morning, stumbled on this site while looking for advice from google...glad I did. I'm in N.E. Pennsylvania, recently honorably discharged Army vet with an interest in mainly M4s and M240/M249...the three weapons I operated the most and therefore have the most confidence in to safely handle. Since the latter 2 are impractical for home defense I'll stick with the M4/AR style. I currently have the standard Remington 870 Express for home defense and hope to begin my collection. Thanks y'all for your shared knowledge and brotherhood...

I've been away from THR for some time, but hope to be spending more time here in the future. As my user name would suggest, I like the Ruger No. One single shot, but also like a lot of other things; mostly long guns and to a large extent, fine rimfire rifles.
I look forward to reading what others think, know or think they know ;),and sharing my thoughts.

Hello all, found this site by random search. I have been shooting for 40+ years, and continue to learn about firearms. Own a mixed assortment of surplus, hunting rifles, revolvers, autoloaders, and shotguns. Can never have a complete collection, as there is always "one more" out there that I want!

Hey all. Just joined in late February. I'm an amateur enthusiast. I have a few handguns and rifles. I'm a bit partial to Rugers. I look forward to learning as much as possible from the good, responsible, and knowledgeable ladies and gentlemen on this forum.

Hello All, Came across this site while researching info on a Swedish Mauser. Hoping to find some info on what it is exactly, and what it may be worth. I own a Auto Repair and Towing Company in Michigans Upper Peninsula. I have a FFL license and sell firearms on the side. A customer had this Mauser given to him and was wanting to know the worth.

What’s up guys? I’m very new here. Just became a member like 10 minutes ago. I’m a retired SFC Army Paratrooper. Not new to weapons but I am a new gun owner. I just bought the HK VP9. Can’t wait to take it to the range. Well a Marine buddy got me to buy the gun. He better be ready to do some shooting. Not much on words, but hoping to make new friends and talk shop with my Brothers in Arms and civilians who like talking crap. Lol

Hello, I joined today and looking forward to all the good info. Been shooting reloading for 20+ years now.
I live in the free state of Michigan. I reload for 15 different pistol cartridges and 8 different rifle.
My job takes me to places like Hornady, Nolser, Sig Sauer, Remington and more.

Hey Loader-Man, welcome to the forum from a fellow Michiganian! Besides having another Wolverine State guy here, it's also great to have another hand loader. Enjoy!

I'm looking forward learning from those who are in the "know" here. I found the site when searching for reloading information and found the information so helpful I signed up.
I'm soon to be a new reloader if circumstances work in my favor so I'm all about learning as much as I can before hand.
I'm a 20 year Navy veteran and learned combat .45 and shotgun from Marine Corps security.
I have a .45acp, some .22 rifles, a shotgun and a brand new 45-70 lever action. Ammo is too expensive so I'm gonna learn to reload it. haha

My general interests are guns and rock and roll. I have a horrible influence that sits next to me at work- who will remain anonymous for now. He is a very active member on this forum and has finally convinced me to join the group. I'm looking forward to reading and seeing lots of great firearm related reads and pics. It may take me a second or two to get the lay of the land but I'll get there soon.

I recognize that lower, so I know who your "influence" is, lol!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on your new Garand!

Welcome to the forum and thank you for your service!
But.....what's wrong with a M249 for home defense? ;)

Good Morning all! I happened across this forum while awaiting my pistol permit (CT). That was 2 months ago, and I'm still waiting... Anyway, I figured the time could be spent performing some research, which led me here. Based on what I hear from my resident trooper's office, I hope to receive word regarding the permit within the next 6 weeks, and hope to have the interview with the Seargent shortly thereafter.

I'm primarily interested in using a firearm for home defense, with the reasonable expectation that I'll never have to use it. After completing the required class, and taking advantage of a few practice sessions, I've discovered how much fun can be had at the range, so I hope to engage in recreational shooting as well. I'll only consider concealed carry once I can complete a comprehensive self-defense course; I truly believe that training emphasis should be on avoidance, de-escalation, and situational awareness first and foremost. Practice at the range can help sort out the rest. I also wouldn't dream of carrying without some form of insurance.

I'm sure I'll have many questions, but even as a newb I hope to be able to contribute something of value in return.
