Been lurking around this site for a while, finally signed up. Guns have always been a part of my family growing up. I didn't shoot a lot until I got kids of my own and wanted to teach them gun safety. Now I have a daughter that went through the SC Youth Shooting Foundation, and a son who have been in competition for 3 years and currently looking forward to this year's competition. I have another son who is a crack shot with a Winchester model 69A. I shoot 22, 223/556, 30 carbine, 30-06, 8mm Lebel, and occasional 12 gauge. I reload 8mm Lebel, 30 30, 30-06, and 30 Carbine (so far). I am happy to find a place where I can read and speak about guns, shooting and reloading.

Howdy to all, Ian from Bruny Island, Tasmania. Australia here, black powder pistol collector & competitor. I'm trying to limit my collection to Confederate manufactured replicas but, like some others here, find it difficult to know where the limit is. Great site you have here - it has answered several of my questions already. Look forward to much interesting correspondence.
Cheere, Ian.

Hello, Everyone:

I'm not a social media buff but I've read enough on this forum to entice me to try it. The discussions held herein are interesting and I find myself wanting to chime in. So, here's your latest FNG:

I grew up with guns and received my first gun, a single shot .22 Stevens, from my Father when I was 7 years old. By age 12, I was hunting rabbits and grouse with it on our farm in WI. I went on to serve in the US Army and later as a civilian police officer for 10 years (politics drove me away from that last career). I've been reloading since age 16 and I'm now 58, so 42 years experience but I learn something new every day, sometimes from you folks.

I look forward to getting to know some of you and continue to learn as well as share some of my own secrets.

Take care,
Tobeal
(nickname my Father gave me when I was very young...Chippewa for something, which he could loosely converse in but would never teach me. I have no idea what it means...perhaps someone can enlighten me).

Hi, new to gun ownership. Bought my first gun about 6 month ago and now have 5. I like shooting Steel Challenge and rimfire challenge and use a Ruger 10/22 and Ruger Mark IV for that. I also have a Glock 17 and an M&P Shield 9mm. I have shot a few USPSA matches with the Glock.

Hi all! 30 years ago I bought two pocket guns. I didn't get into shooting until April of this year. I've been learning as much as possible. Bought a few guns this year and been shooting several times a week. This is my new hobby.

I'm going to have a lot of questions especially about optics. I hope to learn more about guns here. Thanks for having me.

Hello folks, been shooting practically all my life with some pretty long hiatus inbetween. A month ago, a friend got interested in shooting and wanted me to go, so I did and that got the ball rolling again. Luckily, I still have all my reloading stuff. Two progressive and two single stage presses.
My interest is strictly target, especially highpower matches and IPSC. Also like to shoot, old military rifles, 303, Springfield, Garand.

My Dad, a Veteran of WWII & the Korean War introduced me to the shooting sport, hunting, and fishing very early. I have several SKS carbines, a couple of bolt guns, a shotgun and a rimfire rifle & pistol. I am retired and frequent a range nearby at least a couple of times a month. The wife and I live in the country and sometimes we even shoot in our pasture. Life is good with the smell of burning gun powder!
