I have a Thompson Center Hawken that needs a new (non factory replacement) rear sight. I don’t want to put optics on this rifle. I changed out the factory front sight for a high visibility fluorescent one (old eyes you know) and it is higher than the factory original sight, so much so that maximum elevation on the rear sight is insufficient for zeroing the rifle at realistic hunting range.

So I will appreciate recommendations for a new rear sight, adjustable for both windage and elevation, to be mounted either on the barrel or tang. First hand experience preferred if available.

Thanks.

There are fire sight sets that have a rear sight that should have enough elevation and work on a octagon barrel, check out shotgun fire sights for barrels with ribs! Sets for slug guns or turkey guns.

Great sight. I have that identical Williams FP peep on my TC Renegade .54

You might check williams Gunsights and just buy a shorter fiber optic front sight. That would be less expense than buying a rear sight.

I believe that Lyman makes a fully adjustable peep sight that is listed as being for the TC Hawken as well as several of their rifles. Lyman part #3090114 is available from Midway, Brownell’s, and others.

I put a folding tang-mounted rear sight on my Henry, and it works just fine. Plenty of vertical adjustment. The maker is Marbles.
