Went to a gun show today and picked up a new deer rifle. Tikka m658 in 30-06 in awesome shape. It has a really cool deer scene engraved in the stock. Action is super smooth and wood has some great figure to it. 20190202_165207.jpg 20190202_165158.jpg 20190202_165142.jpg

I tried some googling but came up empty on info on this rifle. Anyone tell me about it? I paid 500 with some el cheapo rings (i will probably replace with better quality) and an extra magazine.

That's a good buy, I've been trying to find one of those older Tikka for a while, mostly if I can find one they are in the 6-700 range.

Whew, well I'm glad I got a good deal. I kinda went out on a limb and didn't know much about it. But I knew the seller and he gave me the good deal

Check out the Tikka Whitetail hunter which is m695, your model number should be 685.

If you ever want to sell it let me know :D

I just double checked. It's actually marked 658?

I doubt this one will ever get away from me. My grandpa loved deer hunting, after he passed his deer rifles went to his sons (understandable) but he left me a small inheritance that I used to buy this. He would have loved the rifle.

Very neat, I've never actually seen that particular model!
I think your granddad would be thrilled with both the rifle, and that you have it, congratulations!

From everyone's responses I feel lucky I nabbed this one. After further investigstion the trigger breaks like glass, and according to the manual I found online it is user adjustable but there is no need.

I am shopping for a scope now

I have a bunch of old Tikka 695’s and 595’s. They all great rifles and I’ve taken at least one deer with all but the 30-06. I’m pretty sure I could take it to a zoo and never see an animal. Other than putting a lighter spring on the trigger, the rifles are mechanically just like they came. All are sub-MOA rifles and the 7-08 is scary accurate.
