I originated in a slug only state, and just got my 1st centerfire,a wood stocked axis 243.
I like my Nikon p3 scopes, but really on the 243,I dont like multi reticles
.and the weaver scope it came with is pure junk.
I'm looking at Zeiss scopes. My buddy has a conquest model and the difference tween it and Nikon p3 is like nite and day.
I cant afford a conquest,so anyone here have exp withZeiss models made in asia?
What's your thoughts?
Any info is appreciated!

The Terra is the only Zeiss scope I know of that was made in Asia and it looks like it was discontinued. They are good scopes but there are numerous others in the Terra price range that are just as good. Does your buddy have an original Conquest that was made for Zeiss by Meopta or the current iteration which is the V4? They are very different scopes.

Will you use the rifle for target and hunting or just hunting? What is the maximum distance you’ll be shooting? And again what is your budget?

And while you are at it I’d replace the rings that came with it. The bases are okay IMO but the rings seem awfully cheap and flimsy.

The original Zeiss Conquest 3-9X40 was actually made by Meopta and has been sold under various names. It is still available directly from Meopta. They were sold by Cabelas and were branded as the Cabelas Euro Instinct scope. Same scope, and when Cabelas discontinued them 3 years ago priced at $250 I bought 2. Since then I've picked up 2 more used. I think they are the most scope for the dollar and I see the used Cabelas branded scopes show up used from time to time priced at around $250-$300.

The Terra replaced this scope in the Zeiss lineup. It is a good enough scope, but not quite as good as the original Conquest. But if the price is right wouldn't be a bad choice at all. They have been discontinued, but some may still be available

Leupold is never a bad choice. You don't state a budget but the VX Freedom is a good $200ish scope and I often see the VX-3i priced right.

I wouldn't rule out multi point reticles. There is no downside if you don't want to use it, but if you ever decide to shoot beyond 200-300 yards they are a big help. Even if just shooting at the range.
