I've been tinkering with the idea of getting a centerfire bolt gun for awhile, and this new Savage model 10 FCP looks like it may be the ticket. I like that it comes with a muzzle brake from the factory, and that it's available in both .223 and .308. I'm still not decided on the caliber; however I'm leaning towards .308 if only because I already have a .308 rifle and I like sharing ammo.
Detachable magazine, 24" heavy fluted barrel, and it has Savage's new "AccuStock," which is supposed to be a great improvement for receiver-stock fit and rigidity. The press release is dated the 19th, so I wonder if these are available yet, or whether I'd need to wait awhile before I can get my hands on one.. anyone know?
