So I've got my very recently purchased, used Remington 11-87, 20 guage. I haven't shot it yet, but can't wait to do so. In the meantime I should clean the gun, I would think. My question is, how often would you folks take out the trigger assembly for cleaning? Every time you clean, or every few times? Will the trigger assembly get fouled up with this being a gas operated gun?

Thanks for your input.

With all of Remingtons guns, it is so easy to pop the trigger assembly out there is no reason not too every time you clean.

It may not need it, but if you brush off the light stuff every time, you won't have to clean a really filthy unit some time later.

After you have used the gun for a while you will be a better judge of how often it really needs it.

Some ammo is very dirty and you will get more unburned powder & soot in the action then with other brands.

I cleaned the trigger group on my 1100 about every 5th time out - each time out involved about 150 shots, so every 3 flats or so. It is more important to keep the gas ports clean than anything else on Remington gas guns - pipe cleaners works real well for that
