Picked up the single six over the weekend.
6.5" bbl, fixed sights (model NR-6FL).
Glad I went with fixed sights cause it shoots just fine and looks way better.
I only shot a few cylinders of the .22 magnum but the .22 LR was a lotta fun. Probably will hardly ever use the mag cylinder because of the price of the ammo, and I wasn't very impressed with the accuracy compared to the LR...
The CCI CB Longs are 29 grain rounds at 710 fps velocity. They sound like a cap gun and were very accurate. They will be awesome patio plinking rounds. You could ALMOST shoot those in a city neighborhood.
I also tried both calibers rat shot through the .22 LR and mag cylinders. Both sizes opened up the size of a car at 7 yards.
I tried 9 different types/ brands of .22 LR through it, ranging from shorts, longs and LR. The best groupers and the closest ones to point of aim (remember fixed sights) were the Remington Golden Bullets, which is cool b/c none of my other guns like that bullet and I have a thousand of them.
I shot about 250 or more rounds through it the first afternoon and ended the shooting spree by picking up the .44 mag. BIG MISTAKE! that was wild!

I'm very interested in hearing recommendations from you regarding the ammo that your single six likes and also what holsters you are using with yours. I'm in the market for a decent holster. I'm not picky I just want a USA made holster.

Thanks for reading!

Awesome! I got a 4 3/4" one this spring, and it's a lot of fun. Love the balance and feel of the thing.

I don't know who makes holsters in general for it. I made my own.

5.5" Stainless with adjustable sights...SSSix... love mine, great revolver that should last lifetimes.

Also, listen to rcmodel's advice on that Tom Threeperson's Holster from El Paso Saddlery... I have one as well and it's a real work of art.

I went with the 6.5 inch also but in stainless. One of my favorite purchases.

Beautiful gun. Excellent report too.

I'd have a hard time walking away without buying it if I came across one. I've owned a bunch but now I'm down to a pair of em, one in 22/22Mag and the other in 32 H&R Mag.

My 22 Single Six is one of the least finicky firearms I have. Seems to digest everything. Even the cheap Federal Ammo shoots well in mine.

I went with the Ruger Holsters. Good value, USA made and work well.

Nice gun, thanks for sharing. I shoot CCI Standard velocity..

in mine and they group very well at 50 feet. I have found that each gun is different as each shooter. What works for me and my gun may not work well for you and yours.

I just purchased one with adjustable rear sights Monday. Will take me a while to pickup the revolver because of background check. I love the single six series. I bought this one for $300 with box and manual.
Look forward to the range.
Best,
Howard
