new slug gun accuracy?

well i didnt deer at night... it was the evening i guess. 5pm. 30min before sundown. by the time i dressed it and got him back to the farm and hung him it was 8pm though.

i didnt actually weigh but another guy estimated him at 170ish

i might but a box of the hornadys and give em a try with the new scope.
 
I see two problems. The factory Remmy scope is super cheap and very low quality. The second issue may (or may not be) the SST slugs. Me and my buddies have shot them with very poor results. I shot them from my 11/87 and he from his new Savage 220f. They shot giant groups compared to other top brands. Some will get different results, but this is what we found when testing. Just my experience.
 
Out of my Remington 1100, 20 GA, with a Bushnell scope, I was getting 2" groups all the way out to 100 yards using the Hornady SST slugs.

It's impressive when you're shotgun is as accurate as most of your rifles.
