I remember stories that my dad told me about his WWII service. He was a light armorer and was basically a gunsmith for a while before being a gunner on a B 29. He loved the 1911's and thought they were the best thing ever invented.I have never handled or fired one, but after a little research, I thought I might "need" one.I picked up a RIA 1911 A1 at a local show for $379.after looking at all the various versions of the same gun. I wanted a version that most closely resembled the gun my dad was so enamored with. Well, I couldn't be happier. The RIA shoots nice groups and appears to be well machined out of quality materials. The 1911 is FUN to shoot, and packs a wallop with 230 grain FMJ ammo.No problems to report. This RIA 1911 A1 has to be one of the best bargains out there. Chuck.
