So good start so far... just get some Good .223 factory when ya can find it and shoot it to add to yer collection
Thats what i plan on doing for the most part... pick up a few boxes here or there if needed.

oh and Nice gun... what is It
Thanks. I had a co-worker help me build it. Its an arrow precision lower, 16" SS barrel, 15" rail, and some other goodies. stole the tac light of my 9mm.

Most Federal branded I've come across lately has crimped in primers.
And in case no one has mentioned it -- you gotta lube rifle brass. Trust me on that one!

Most of the stuff i picked up isnt crimped, but 1 box was. Ill definitely need a sawger. I kinda figured id need some lube on these, but im glad someone pointed it out!

For feeding an AR, I'd want a minimum of 150-200 cases beyond what I plan to have loaded at any time. There's so much time spent with case prep, it is nice when you can wait to process at least 100 cases at a time. I usually wait until I have at least 3-400 empties before setting up shop.

Thats my plan. I figure for the first few loads, ill be experimenting, so i wont need many. once i find my go-to load, I like to have numerous made up.

Thanks! Any suggestions on powder? I'm thinking mostly of shooting lighter plinking loads (probably a 55gr at close-ish range). Right now furthest I would be shooting would be about 150-200 yards. But most would be 100 or less. Barrel is a 16" 1 in 9 twist.
Varget or Ar Comp

For powders, depends on what other rifles you load for. IMR4895 and Varget will work in a lot of other, larger rifle cartridges. That's always nice. But they're both chunky stick powders. Varget bridges especially badly in my measure.

For ease of metering, I would go with a ball powder, like H335, TAC, BLC-2, or Win 748.

Im now considering picking up another upper and barrel, so i can shoot 300 aac blackout as well. I was thinking of getting the H4895. I know a few people that use it and have good luck. Would it work decent in both .223 and 300 aac blackout? I dont see much load data for 300 blackout...

You'll need something different than 4895 for .300 BLK, but don't let that stop you.

H110/W296, Enforcer/AA4100, AA #9, 2400, AA 5744, AA 1680, (4198 might work) etc.
