Arch,
That is the data I saw. I wasn't second guessing you, as that load looks to be pretty accepted. I was just pointing out the differences among the manuals.

Good work, you checked data you read online. That's the mark of a safe reloader. Data sources will not always agree. ArchAngelCD knows his load, but there is no harm in double checking. Those components should keep you busy "for now." I went from a "cartridge buying, 50 rounds a month" kinda guy to a "bullet buying, handloading, 100 rounds a month" kinda guy to a "bullet casting, progressive loading, 500 rounds month or bust" kinda guy. Enjoy the slippery slope!

I agree, always check any data you get online or from someone face to face. Actually, I usually put a note in my posts suggesting the data should always be verified.

That load of 4.0gr W231 under a 158gr LSWC is listed in the Lyman 49th Edition and also marked "the most accurate." I've been using it for years so I didn't need Lyman to tell me it's an accurate load!! LOL

I went ahead and loaded the 4.0 of w231 under 158 grn swcs. I loaded 50 of those, and 50 DEWC over 2.8 grns of w231.

The latter was picked based on imput from a friend, but I have a feeling I'll work these up to the 3.2 level.

I just need to pull one of the 158's that was seated about .002 deeper than the min OAL. That probably wouldn't make much of a difference at these loadings, but I'm new. I may as well avoid bad habits early.

After that, I'll take a trip to the range and see how I did.
