But it is an interesting variant. I've seen plenty of 24/241 rifles, but none in .22 short with this case deflector.

I'm assuming it is some sort of gallery gun, but can't turn much up. If anyone knows more than I do, please chime in.

Also, it would appear the reciever is the same for .22 short or long rifle variants, and I can get a LR barrel at a pretty reasonabe cost. This barrel has some pitting in the bore anyway, so if they can be switched out, I will. Anyone know off the top of their head? I'll keep digging, but help is appreciated.

I just couldn't walk away from this critter for $99.

if it is short only, then it is short only, it performs the prep loading area, up top, in the receiver, longs will jam it. they do in mine, which is a 241 gs. also a shorts only model. i have never heard of a 24 short only, which could make it even more rare. 24's were made from about '20 to 35' , I think. I have never seen one with a schnabel fore-end before either. These babies go for 300 plus all the time, easy. As for shorts only, you will not believe this, but they will cycle CCi cb shorts!!!! amazing, you can have 20yd or so backyard shooting.
the case deflector was nothing new, and was a part you could buy and add on, for about 1.50 at the time, but it is nice that you have one.

Really, I had to call back, 99 bucks??? Dude you totally stole, so if feeling guilty, you can send me a check to assuage your guilt. Mine does not like remmy 22 shorts, because they have a huge cannelure type ring around the bullet just above the crimp, and that hangs it up, but the cci's are smooth lead, and work flawlessly.

Well, upon disassembly I found that it's missing the cartridge carrier, and Numrich doesn't have one. However, the rifle feeds, fires and ejects just fine, so I guess I won't worry about it.

And you're right, Ranger-this thing runs CB's just fine. It's gonna be my new favorite does-not-get-the-neighbor's-attention-at-6:30 AM-bunny-slayer.

whats great is trying to shoot them on paper at 100 yds; you actually catch a glimpse of the bullet leaving the tube, and it goes downrange like a mortar shot.
